Atop Blast the Beaters rode Leslie Sheridan and Bill Hannah for the freshmen. The queen candidates wore formals and the king candidates wore dress suits when they rode on the floats in the parade down Main Street. On Homecoming Day ballots with the names of the candidates on them were handed out to the student body to vote. The votes were tallied, and the winners were announced and crowned at halftime of the football game. The queen candidates were again required to wear formal attire as they rode around on the floats for everyone to see. The two king candidates playing football wore their uniforms, and the other two wore dress suits as they accompanied the girls. Homecoming queen was Leslie Sheridan, and king was Tim Joe Murphy. The royalty presided over the Homecoming dance. The freshmen candidates were Bill Hannah and Leslie Sheridan. On September 24th the Homecoming parade marched down main street to the music of the Cut Bank High School Band. The band was led by the twirlers. The theme of the parade was War and all the floats colorfully represented it. School was dismissed at three o1 clock for the parade. The wind was blowing gustily at the usual Cut Bank velocity, but all the napkins were securely fastened; hence, there was no serious damage to the floats. All the floats were at the parade on time but the freshman float. The freshman float was late because of an accident it had while driving to the starting place of the parade. BLAST THE BEETERS, the Freshmen Float, tied for 3rd. The Beeter was burned to begin the Homecoming Game. The Cut Bank Wolves blasted the Chinook Sugar beeters 30 to 1, to highlight the 1971 Homecoming festivities. The game was an emotional one for the Wolves showing them at their best, both offensively and defensively. The game started off with a sustained Cut Bank drive going in on a twenty-yard run by quarterback Craig Rice Rice was to punch in the next two touchdowns the first half, one from three yards out and one from two. The other scorer for Cut Bank was Bill Hannah, who broke free for a sixty-four yard scamper, to put the Wolves ahead 24-0. The last Cut Bank drive of the night ended with Hannah again taking the ball across, this time from six yards out. Other ball carriers for the Wolve: were Steve Smith, fullback, and Tim Joe Murphy, slot-back, both doing well, although they were not scorers. The offensive line for Cut Bank must also be given credii for a great job of breaking holes in Chinook's defensive. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Anderson with son Greg.
