The climax of the evening's festivities was the grand march. The social event of the 1969-1970 school year was the formal ball sponsored by the senior class. In order to form a prelude to the holiday season, the time for the ball was December 23. The seniors spent the week before the ball decorating the South Side gym in ice blue streamers, mint green streamers, a holiday mistletoe wreath, and a beautiful mural to carry out the theme of Mistletoe Frolic. Music for the ball was furnished by the Travel Agency. Sophomore class candidates Judy Sammons and Don Berezay One of the freshmen class candidates was Mary Murphy. The freshman king candidate was Fritz Wolk.
