Choosing Shirley Scalese, Robert Quist, Karen Monroe, and John Blankenship for our leaders, our first undertaking was a float for the Homecoming parade. When we presented our papier-mache heads we were awarded last place! We made a little comeback when our candidate Jon King was crowned king. Connie Peterson brought home track honors from Ennis. Our main objective was to become sophomores. In the fall of 1963, we elected Peggy Simonson, Larry Salois, Larry Tibbitts, and John Blankenship to be our fearless leaders. Marilyn More, Pat Money, Peggy Simonson, and Jeane Harris were elected to cheer on the B squad. Nancy Getter was elected secretary of the Student Council. Again we plunged into Homecoming, building a beautiful float entitled Lollipops and Roses , only to have the side tom off by a high curb at the last minute!. We again captured LAST place. Our candidate Nancy Getter reigned as Homecoming queen. Marsha Myklebust was chosen Queen of Hearts in the heart fund drive. Again, Connie brings home impressive track honors. We had come a long way, but we could hardly wait to have the title UPPERCLASSMEN. We accomplished much more our junior year. To lead us along the way, we elected John Blankenship, Sally Gertzen, Marsha Myklebust, and Larry Salois for our class officers. Robert Quist was elected vice president of the Student Council. Peggy Simonson and Jeane Harris were peppy cheerleaders for the A squad. We produced our junior play, HOME SWEET HOMICIDE, with leads going to Wayne Mock, Shirley Scalese, Kay Bingham, and Jeane Harris, The performance rocked the audience with laughs. Shirley Scalese was state president of JCL and hosted the state convention here. We decorated our Junior Prom with the theme Teahouse of the August Moon . Our candidates Dianna Dudley and Carl Christofferson were crowned king and queen. Nancy Getter reigned as DeMolay Sweetheart at the DeMolay Sweetheart Ball. Nancy Getter, Kay Bingham, and Shirley Scalese attended Girls' State. Wayne Mock, John Good, John Blankenship, John Kays, Mike Cooney, Marvin Anderson, and Robert Quist represented CBHS at Boys' State. Connie went to Columbus, Ohio where she placed high in the Junior Nationals of AAU. Heisey Awards were given to Wayne Mock, Kay Bingham, Ramona DeZort, Shirley Scalese, Sally Gertzen, and Connie Peterson, Sally Gertzen spent six weeks at MSU in Bozeman last summer as one of a selected group for cancer research. Wayne Mock was chosen student director at the Music camp in Missoula last summer. Greg Smith attended a national TARS conference last summer. Peggy Titland went to International Music Camp at Peace Gardens, North Dakota. Having passed our junior year successfully, we forged ahead toward our ultimate goal of MIGHTY SENIOR. This being our last year, we intended to leave a deep impression. Our first endeavor was Homecoming, and unfortunately, our float placed last as usual. But our candidate Steve Johnstone was elected king. Robert Quist led the student body as its president, and Larry Salois was treasurer of the Student Council. Cut Bank High School hosted the State Student Council Convention with John Blankenship, state president, officiating. Peggy Simonson, Jean Harris, and Susan Loudermilk were A squad cheerleaders. Carl Christofferson, Dianna Dudley, Larry Salois, and Bill Burns were our class officers. Kay Bingham, Sally Gertzen, John Good, Shirley Scalese, and Connie Peterson held the highest grade averages. The senior class and the music department presented the musical comedy, FINIAN'S RAINBOW. Leni Tuma, George Reams, Robert Quist, and Steve Johnstone had leading roles. The musical was a great success. Kay Bingham, chairman of District One of the FHA, hosted the district meeting. Rita Salois was general chairman of the FHA convention. Don Wilder placed high among the Merit Scholars, and Sally Gertzen received honorable mention. The Optimists recognized Shirley Scalese, Kay Bingham, Connie Peterson, Sally Gertzen, Robert Quist, John Blankenship, and Marvin Anderson for their good citizenship. 31 Class Will Of 1965 I, Charlene Adkins, leave my ability to run to any Frosh lass--who next year will be in Mrs. Smith's P. I, Steve Smith, leave my neat eyes and hair to anyone who likes them! I, Jody Smith, leave so small, hoping no one will find me at all! I, Tom Stevens, won't let Larry take MY drums! I, Pat Stevenson, leave with no regrets! I, Peggy Titland, will my chair in band to Rosanne Pfiefer. I, Vivian Tough, leave nothing, because I need everything I have. I, Leni Tuma, will my scatter-brains and bad memory to anyone who can stand them. 1, Lynn VanDeKop, leave to my brother Rory, the schoolwork in hopes he can do better. I, Phyllis Waggoner, leave Steph Newhouse to pick up where I left off! I, Dick Wahl, will my wrestling ability to the un-coordinated Frosh that need it. I, Jane Ward, leave my red hair to anyone who thinks she can bear it as long as I have. I, Don Wilder, leave my ability to get along to Mike Crockett. I, Nancy Wiley, will to the Juniors Cut Bank High School. I, Pat Wilson, being of sound mind and body will put my resonators back in my Honda.
