CLASS FLOWER pink Rose CLASS COLORS- ORCHID Pink CLASS MOTTO • he never is alone THAT IS ACCOMPANIED BY NOBLE THOUGHTS. 2 -Fletcher FOREWORD The staff of THE WOLF planned this book with ideas drawn from the example of the school board in their planning for the future of the Cut Bank schools. The staff tried to compile a book using the newer trends in journalism rather than clinging to precedent set in the past. They are fully aware that education is the most important business in our country today. They appreciate the efforts of the interested educators who are planning their futures. Many new and lasting friendships were made. In our fourth year of grade school, we diligently helped our teachers move into the new school building which we had all been anticipating. Our only regret was that we had but two years left in that beautiful building. Junior High was a time for us to catch our breath before making the transition from high and mighty eighth graders to lowly freshmen. Our basketball team, the Cougars, gained a very high record which caused many of us to expect a similar one in the last two years of our high school days. In the fall of 1964, breathlessly arrayed in lipstick and burlap, we invaded the halls of Cut Bank High School. Upon electing Pat Winterrowd, president; Robert Humes, vice-president; Vem Hendrickson, secretary; Dennis Hoptowit, treasurer; and Ronnie Dudley, reporter, we began functioning as the lowest, yet the biggest class. Our freshman talent assembly was enjoyed by all. Robert Humes led us our sophomore year assisted by Vern Hendrickson, Dennis Morgan, Dennis Hoptowit, and Ron Dudley. Included in the agenda was our homecoming float; work on our youth center, The Wolves Den; and the talent assembly. Vem was elected secretary of the student council. Dennis Hoptowit presided over the activities of our junior year with Dennis Morgan, Jenny Lee, and Nicki Luther as assistants. Vem Hendrickson served as vice-president of the student council. Our float, Carousel , received first place. We chose Some Enchanted Evening as our theme for the Junior Prom, and we decorated the gym using our class colors, pink and orchid. The three act comedy, Room and Bored , was enjoyed by the actors and the audience. Robert Humes was elected student body president, and Dennis Morgan was chosen to serve as treasurer. For senior class officers, we chose David Woodruff, Joyce Gertzen, Laurel Peterson, and Ron Dudley. Pink Panther, our homecoming float, became our first project. Our football team did a commendable job for the Wolves. Mary Lee Schaffer and Marilyn Neidhardt led the cheers of Cut Bank. Work on the annual soon gc5t under way, headed by editor Dennis Morgan, Karyl Sue LaSorte was elected editor of the Live Wire. Joyce Gertzen won the Homemaker of Tomorrow award. Our Senior Play, The Mouse That Roared, was a big success. After decorating for our senior ball, 'The Pink Ice Palace, it was cancelled due to bad weather. Jenny Lee became Cut Bank's Junior Miss. We took first place in the Northern Class B Divisional Tournament held in Cut Bank. The critical moment of graduation finally came with moments of joy and sadness in everyone's heart. Those serious people, in white and purple robes progressing toward the speaker's rostrum to receive their diplomas, were a far cry from the boisterous horde that first invaded Cut Bank High School. The twelve years of schooling together will always hold many dear memories to be treasured by the Class of 65. 92 Lynda Kay Neal Peggy checks out a book for Kinley Mr. McCartney's typing class Mr. Rimel at work Mr. Nugent s Biology Class AUTOGRAPHS THIS PAGE COURTESY OF E O BOYLE. Choose from The Long Green Line of John Deere Equipment The past four years in Cut Bank High School have been, at least for many of us, one of building our minds through experience and excellent guidance on the part of the administration. The high school years are important ones for us, and without counsel from our teachers these years would be even more difficult. This year has brought many improvements to our school, and because of this we know our futures are being looked at with concern by our elders. Through this we know they are planning to have things better than they had them. I hope that as our education system trains more people, that we, too, can contribute to the betterment of this world we live in. J2 sM .as V%i W%p !§ t%$$$£ -TM: -% .4 5 « ' •:.?■. v AVJC :;«%T-r
