Class History September, 1957, is an important date because it was then the class of 1961 first made their entrance as students of CBHS. Being green as all Freshmen are, we did our best to make a big hit. Electing Fred Heistand as class president helped us much along our way. We didn’t do too bad either as Ariel was elected Student Body Secretary for the next year, and Kay, Grace, Karen, and Patsy were chosen to lead cheers for B-squad games. The varsity team also won the second place trophy at Billings in the State Tournament. Revenge on the Frosh! Feeling not so lowly, now only second lowest, we began our Sophomore year by electing Grace class president, assisted by Bill, Kay, and Darlene. The B-squad cheerleaders chosen this year were Grace, Karen, Kay, and Noralee. Karen was elected Vice Prsident of the Student Council for the next year. For the first time, A-squad cheerleaders were elected in the spring. They were Karen, Kay, Grace, and Loy. Upperclassmen at last! Maybe not being as important as we felt we must be, the class elected Ada as president. Our third Homecoming was truly a thrill for our class, as our float “Holland” received second place. It seemed we had been in CBHS but a short time, and already it was time to order class rings. The day soon came, also, when we chose our class motto, color, and flower, with “To seek, to find, but not to yield” as our motto, the pink rose and bronze mum our flowers, and bronze and pink being our colors. The Junior class play was “The Bishop’s Mantle”, and the Junior prom was “Carousel” with Kent Webster and Diane Durham reign- ing. Loyce was DeMolay sweetheart, and next year’s A-squad cheerleaders were Loy, Loyce, Karen, and Kay. Chris was elected President of the Student Body and Joye treasurer. During the summer Grace was elected Girls’ State Governor and went to Washington D. C. and the twins were delegates for the U. N. Pilgrimage for Youth in New York, Canada and Washington, D. C. The Class hardly caught its breath in time to realize we were actually Seniors! We elected Chuck, Don, Grace, and Diane to make this, our last year, a completely successful one. Homecoming was the first big event of the year with Chris and Grace as King and Queen. We gave our second play production, “Lock, Stock, and Lipstick”, followed soon after by the Senior Ball “Snoball” at which Loy and Mel were the royal couple. Ordering announcements, taking Senior Portraits, and electing Andrea as the editor of the “Wolf’ gave us the full meaning of Senior life. As each of us read this, our Class History, we will again relive the precious days of high school and its many moments truly worth remembering. 25

Class Prophecy At a grand twenty-year reunion of the class of 1961, we find an outstanding list of achievements for our classmates. Just in case you are interested, we have prepared a list of all the class and.their life accomplishments which is as follows: RICHARD CHRISTOFFERSON’S gift of swaying the masses won him AFLi-CIO boss. BOB DUROCHER is trying to catch up with WAYNE DUROCHER who is trying to catch up with Bob. KAREN COLEMAN, who is attempting to restore the horse-and-buggy days, realizes she was born 50 years too soon. JOHN CURRY, Supervising Sanitary Engineer, is a guidance counselor! BRUCE DEZORT, author of Abominable Snowman, et a 1,976 hour filibuster record. STEVE DEZORT is a mechanic for the General Motors Corporation. JIM SHELBY operates the Cabinet Repair Shop (speciality—end tables.) DON KRAFT gives roping exhibitions in Madison Square Gardens now. PHIL HUEBNER advanced from building snow forts to airplane hangars. RICHARD OLSEN has established radio contact with friend Lynn in the first satellite with rim-to-rim carpeting done by LYNN CANNON, universally famous architectural engineer in interior decoration. JIM PETERSON, because of his earlier experience in alterating library permits, is an engraver in the U. S. mint. ALLEN KUTT is the star of the new Robin Hood television series. CFIARLES McADAM—Coach McAdam, affectionately known by his team as “Chuckie”, led his team to victory in the Cabbage Patch League. DON KRUSE manufactures motor-powered wheel chairs that fly, wim, run, and hop. JIM KING is now first vice-president of King’s Kar Korral, Inc. JOYE KING, psychiatrist, takes only girls with giggle problems. ELDA KAYS is the medical librarian for the John Hopkins hospital. FRANCES LASORTE owns the chain stores entitled Frannie’s Dress Shoppe. JUDY LENOIR runs American Bandstand and gives free dancing lessons. GAIL HEITPAS, Colonel in WAF’s, is a demolitian expert. NEILA HODGSON, principal of Anna Jefferies, still declare she will not teach. CLIFF HAGEN is now running “Cliff ’n Chuck’s Super-Save Grocery.” ARIEL FRY is STEVE BARRON’S new partner in the musical hit North Atlantic. ANDREA STOMSVIK is White House press secretary for the first lady president. TONI ADKINS has been appointed State Controller of Montana Dietetics. MEL BERKRAM has developed a grain which relieves the wheat surplus pressure. DICK BIRD’s, Montana’s Carl Sandburg and poet laureate; best-known poem is “Ode to a Producing Oil Well.” KAY BONDE found parachute jumping suits her airline hostess job. NANCY BRANDON now operates the successful Nan’s Beauty Clinic. JOHN TAYLOR has released his third bestseller LIFE IN A SATELLITE. PHYLLIS BROOKS has published her new Phyllis Brooks Cook Book to replace the obsolete Betty Crocker one. PATTY POTTS is the head nurse at the home for aged movie idols. 26
