• • • • DIPLOMAS SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the Fall of 1950, a thundering herd of mighty green Frosh converged on the halls of CBHS. Under the leadership of Nile Aubrey, President: Betty Johnston, Vice President; Les Davis, Secretary-Treasurer and Carl Wert. Reporter, we managed to live through the tribulations of our Initiation. The boys came to school with their pants rolled up to their knees and a green ribbon adorning their hair, while the girls wore short skirts, one high heeled shoe and one flat shoe, one nylon and one man's stocking, their hair in curlers, cold cream on their faces, and a green ribbon in their hair. Following the Initiation, we sponsored the Annual Freshman Return Dance. Still green, but growing, we had our revenge as Sophomores. Our officers that year were President Jack McDonald. Vice President Jim Sparks. Secretary-Treasurer Merlin Hunter, and Reporter Betty Lou Sherman. We made sure the class of '55 was brought into CBHS in the usual style. After they were initiated they gave a dance for us. In March, the class of '54 had a good representation on the choir trip to the East. Upperclassmen at last! This, our Junior year, we elected Jim Sparks as President. Ray Berezay as Vice President, Barbara Schwingel as Secretary-Treasurer, and Jim Newman as Reporter. Under the guidance of these able officers and the direction of Mr. Speich. we gave the play. My Wife's Family. The play was the biggest success ever held at CBHS. Dancing under the stars to the strains of Blue Hawaii. as played by the Paul Dube Trio, our Prom was held on May 8th and was another successful milestone in our travels through Cut Bank High School. Our final year in CBHS brought about many drastic changes. With Dale Beland as Editor of the Live Wire, we put out a larger and better paper. Our Senior year found Ray Berezay as President. Karen O'Leyar as Vice President, Bev Hart as Secretary-Treasurer, and George Kawanishi as Reporter. Student Council President Myron Siebrecht inaugurated the first annual Homecoming at CBHS. Margaret Siebrecht was the first Homecoming Queen. “Great Caesar's Ghost was presented December 9th and was an even greater success than our Junior Play. -Silver Beils was the theme of our Senior Ball, over which Bev Hart and Nile Aubrey reigned. As our final triumph, we of the class of '54 will march down the aisles to the strains of “Pomp and Circumstance. wearing brand new caps and gowns. It has been a very full and successful four years and none of us wifi forget CBHS. “Best in the West. COLORS—Purple and White FLOWER—Glacier Lily “Forward forever, backward never: within our hearts our future lies.”
