Glee Club The first appearance of the Music Department was at the Junior Class Play when the girls' and boys' glee clubs sang between acts. All members of the department went to Sioux City, February 28, to partici- pate inthe Woodbury County Vocal Festival directed by Dr. Robert Larson of Morningside College. The massed boy's chorus sang: We Sail the Ocean Blue by Cooksong My Lord, What a Mornin ' arranged by Gillian, Your Land and My Land by Romberg. The massed girl's chorus sang: Lo, A Voice to Heaven Sounding arranged by Davis, Linden Lea by Williams, A Flemish Carol arranged by Christiansen, and Ole A1-k's aMoverin ' arranged by Cain. The massed mixed chorus sang: Jesus, Priceless Treasure by Bach, Ja- cob's Ladder arranged by Caing A Salute to America by Youseg Happy Wanderer by Moller-Adeg l'll Walk With God by Brodszky. Gene Ehlert was chosen to represent Cushing in the solo Work. At the Senior Class Play the girls' sextette and boys' double quartet enter- tained. Both glee clubs took part in the Baccalaureate Service. The boys sang, My Lord, What a Mornin ' and the girls sang, Lo, A Voice the Heaven Sounding arranged by Davis. At the Commencement Exercises the mixed chorus appeared singing, To Thee We Sing by Tsach and Halls of Ivy by Russell and Knight. Gene Ehlert sang a vocal solo, Friend O' Mine by Sanderson.
