Chart chool Program The Curwensville Ioint Board, comprised of members from the individual boards, has the major task of approving the budget and adopting the minutes of the joint Committee, a committee composed of two members from each of the in- dividual boards. This has been an active year for these representatives from Curwensville, Lumber City. and Grampian Boroughs and the townships of Greenwood, Ferguson, Pike and Penn because of the many plans for the new high school. YVorking in close harmony with the Ioint Board are Mr. Harry C. Heil. the supervising principal, and Mr. NVarren H. Briggs. the high school principal. Nlr. Heil serves as the administrator for the entire Jointure. This vcar, with the aid of Mr. Briggs, he has formed new school committees which are made up entirely of teachers. These committees are busy with two major projects. They are concerned primarily with a Civilian Defense Program and the compilation of a hand- book of useful information for teachers. Mr. Briggs, the high school principal, has under his supervision a staff of thirty-three teach- ers. In addition to his supervisory duties, his is also the difficult all-year task of scheduling classes for both students and teachers and assign- ing extra-curricular activities.
