Mary Hill-Nurse VIP'S The cafeteria staff comes at 6:30 A. M. and leave at 2 P. M. They serve approximately 1200 students and faculty a day. Mrs. Schell has been secretary at Curtis since the school opened. She serves as secretary to Mr. Budd and is responsible for enrollments and is in charge of the office work. The nurse is responsible for giving talks and planning programs on health, as well as carin for the health of each student during the day. The cus- todians work at Curtis from 6 A. M. to 4 P. M. They make sure everything is running smoothly before school and wait on students during school. Mrs. Fiedler serves as bookkeeper and treasurer. W ' r . For the first time, Art is being offered to all three grades. Art is offered to the ninth grade on the assumption that they intend to do some- thing with art later in life. Art on the level of seventh and eighth grade is offered in hopes of giving the student a knowledge and understanding of con- ception, coordination, and the use of their Own imagination. - . I- Reading Reading Development and Improve- nient help the students to learn to read as well as they possibly can. Reading Development is for the students who do not read as well as they should, while Reading Improvement is for readers who enroll for speed and better comprehensicm, and so improve in other subjects. There are 210 Students enrolled in the course with two teachers, Mr. Robin- son and Mr. Pringle. 1 . He conducts five groups of students: The Or- chestra with seventh, eighth, and ninth graders, the Symphonic Band with all three grades, the Concert Band with Seventh and eighth graders, and the Cadet Band with seventh and ninth graders. The fifth group, the Stage Band, has eighth and ninth graders who practice before and after school twice a week.
