1 The Buddy System is used in all classes in which the hearing impaired student is enrolled. The helpers take notes of lecture classes and movie pictures for the hearing impaired. THE HEARING IMPAIRED Curtis junior High School is the only junior high school in Wichita which in- cludes in its curriculum a program for hearing impaired students. Basic to the success of this program is a system of student helpers. Student helpers are selected students who are recommended by teachers or who apply to Mr. Randle. Denise White show Marcia Gosser how to change Fahrenheit temperature to Centigrade tempera- ture. Mr. Randle combines lipreading and language development lessons into one lesson. Vocabulary Words used come from each studeht's daily assignment. i I . .
