Counselors Proctors serve as receptionists for the counselors and also help with clerical work, file when needed, and run errands. They alphabetize tests and answer sheets, sharpen test pencils, and take messages. Only ninth graders can be proctors. ART CLUB SEATED, LEFT TO RIGHT: Mike Cain, Eddie Irwin, Carol Lippitt, Margie Lappin, jim Norris. The Art Club has nO formal organization, but it gives eighth graders a chance to sketch, paint, and create for thirty minutes each Tuesday, sixth hour. The office proctors are a great help to the secretaries and counselors, as they perform a variety of jobs including filing, carrying messages, doing general clerical work, and somtimes using the inter- com. The proctors feel that this experience gives them a valuable education in office work. Only ninth graders can be office proctors. The purpose of library proctors is to give service to the school. It is beneficial in four ways to the proctors: they learn to do clerical work efficiently, they learn to work with others, they meet the public, and they learn the fundamentals of a library. 51
