Y-Teens Y-Teens is an organization of girls who are the teenage members of the Y.W.C,A, The purpose of this club is to help girls to grow as a person, to grow in friendship with people of all races, religions, and nationalities, and to grow in the knowledge and love of God. Miss Beaty, Mrs. Meredith, Miss Pierce, Mrs. Moon, Miss Browne, and Miss Downing are the advisors. HI-Y The Hi-Y is the teen-age branch of the Y. M, C.A. The Hi-Y team was second place in league basketball. The club also participates in track, Sponsored by Mr. Riffel, Mr, Robinson, and Mr, Holman. Dram Club v-1 Drama Club, which was organized in 1953, was one of the first clubs organized at Curtis. Members have given many performances for assem- blies. This year there are forty members in Drama Club. Miss Taylor has been the sponsor since the Drama Club was organized.

The purpose of the club is to promote spirit- ual growth through Bible study and Christian fellowship. Art Club The Art Club offers twenty-five eighth graders an opportunity to have fun with paint, charcoal, chalk, crayons or clay for thirty minutes a week. This is the only provision for eighth graders to do anything with art since it is not offered as a part of the course Miss McPherson is the sponsor of the club. 2 gg: ,li ' b Science Club was organized in 1958 to promote interest in the fields of C I e n u science and to give students an opportunity to work on a special project.

F1 C1 5.4 Red Cross The Red Cross Club, sponsored by Mr, Rothfelder, meets once a week throughout the year. One person is elected as a representative from each Home Room. The club sends magazines to each Home Room, and also carries on a variety of act- ivities during the year. .Qi Y Drama Club Iouncil 3 ,, ip- Participating in the play Father Says, No Were, left to right, Blaine Baird, Bob Lewis, Pat Benson-student director, Peggy Babb, Susan Seal- ey, Trudy Shumate-Properties Chairman, Bob Craftree, Eldon Holsey, Danilou Latimer, Linda Finch. R Q, lafety ,fl The Safety Council is sponsored by Mr. Stanley. It consists of a member from each homeroom. Through posters and announcements the Council pro- motes its projects.
