Larry finished first, jeff tied for seventh, and Tom finished eleventh. john Hreha and Kevin Prosser were also a vital part of this year's team. In the Medal Play Tourney, Kevin finished in a tie for second and john tied for fourth. The Vikings fashioned a 16-2 league record in taking their third consecutive league championship. The Viks went on to finish second in the West Central district tournament and second in the Region 111 tournament at Longview, Washington. CThe two teams that defeated the Vikings. East High and Timberline, met for thc state championship? Many players contributed this season to the Vikings success as team balance was their greatest strength. Four Vikings finished the entire season averaging in double figures: Pat Swesey 12.5, Clay Angle 11.5, Tom Davidson 10.7, and Mike Levenseller 10.0. On the season seven different players led the Vikings in scoring in a single game CSwesey, Angle, David- son, Levenseller, Peterson, Cranlund, and Shaffer.1 Highlights of this year were many but among them were: Scoring 109 points against Tahoma saw Swesey, Davidson. and Angle scoring 19 points apiece. Defeating Enumclaw and Fife in revenge games after they beat the Vikings in their first meetings. In the second Enumclaw game, Cliff Peterson played his greatest game by scoring 26 points. Blasting Sumner in their second meeting 81-45 as Swesey scored 16, while Angle, Davidson, and Peterson scored 14. Pat Swesey, a two-year starter for the Viks, finished his senior year in great fashion, Pat ended the season as sixth lead- ing alltime scorer, while his seasonal total was fifth best. Pat became the number two man in field goals made with 227 while he was third in field goal percentage at 50676. Patis most amazing statistic was becoming the Vikings' alltime leader in rebounds for a season, 272 and in a career, 482. Clay Angle became the leading career freethrow shooter at 7992. Clay also appeared in more quarters than any previous Viking by playing in 99 quarters.
