THE JUNG SENIORS HE whistle of the train was heard in the distance. Shouts, loud and louder, broke forth from a great number of pupils who were gathered here to welcome the great Huston. Great in his studies, great in athletics, great in the favor of his school- mates was this young man. He had said that he could not return for his last year, but now when the telegram had been received stating that this train would Carey him back again, how could they refrain irom shouting? The train had stopped, and accompanied by Edward, he stepped off, or rather was carried off by his chums. Well, Howfv everybodyu? he managed to ask when he had finally been set down at the school. He was not so anxious to talk though, as he wanted to hear all the boys' experiences. Nor a word could he have managed to get in if he had tried, on account of the class cheers. shouts and singing. At this moment a note was put into his hand by a small boy, who had managed to get to him by squeezing among the crowd. At first Huston thought it was a Bi!! but soon saw his mistake when he read that the girls at Johnson-'s College, of which Miss Nelson was the head, and which was two miles distant, having heard of his arrival, invited him and the rest of his chums for an evening's entertainment that same night.' Wfhen he had read it to them, nothing could be heard for cheers. :Pon my soul! exclaimed Harold, when the cheering had partly subsided, If they don't find out everything at the very moment that it happens! Here Huston just arrived, yet they know it already. I'd like to use a Hanfwnar on him! He is such a favorite with the girls and we have to stand by and watch ! exclaimed Calvin. Even Florence, I suppose, answered Harold. Florence was a new girl at the College. - They all declared that they had a line time that evening, being entertained by a wonderful piece of elocution by Irene and a violin solo by Sophia. The girls escorted the boys about one-half of the way home in honor of the great occasion. Thirty-nine
