WtLCOMt PARENTS . M- - ' Curry College ' s 1969 Parents Weekend was a huge success, both informative and well planned. Appre- ciation should go to Linda Cudmore and Don Mitchell, co-chairmen of the weekend as well as the chairman, Mr. Warren Bazirgan, Jr. The college sponsored an open house in the Par- ents Lounge for both students and parents on Fri- day evening. The following day included registration and an informal coffee hour which was attended by students, parents, and faculty. At this time, Presi- dent John Hafer presented the future expectations of the college. A buffet luncheon in the Miller Gym was then shared by all. With great anticipation, everyone proceeded to their seats at the atheltic field to cheer Curry ' s football to victory. Our boys fought hard but bowed to Trenton State College, six to nine. The entertainment for Saturday evening was presented by the Curry College Theatas, who presented two one-act plays: Mrs. Dally Has A Lover, and Wisper Into My Good Ear. The conclusion of the three day Parents Weekend was a joint luncheon in the Miller Gym. The week- end proved to be most enjoyable for all who took part and one of which Curry College can be proud. OCTOBEI .v N A The October 15th Moratorium was hailed by the students of Curry College as a day of protest against our involvement in Vietnam. The students and faculty showed their support for the moratorium by attending speeches on the quadrangle. Those participating in the activities were: Dean Rose, who gave a prayer for the war dead, Mr. Hilyard, Mr. VanNeste, Mr. Mandell, Dr. Thrower, Dr. Condit, Mr. Schnieder, and a newspa- per editor from Cambridge, Mass. Speeches were given by stu- dents and afterwards a protest song was presented by the Curry College Choir. After the program Curry students gathered at the Boston Common with students from schools all over Boston. There were 100,000 people there of which Curry was a part. ilF X -4 S ' i:: ' . • - % ' jm T . turl t
