Cupertino Bands Cupertino's Marching and Concert Band, under the direction of Mr. Gomez, has brought much praise to Cupertino. Rated as one of the top bands in the area, the band marched at Stanford University and Kezar Stadium. The performances at DeAnza and the Pioneer Day Parade were merited by a second request to play at the University of San Francisco's football game at Kezar. In February, band members were given the opportunity to try out for County and State Honor Bands, with I5 making County. The outstanding instrumentalists qualifying for State were Sara Cooley, Dave Chapman, Dave LoVine, Tom Martin, and Jerry Shapiro. The band also gave concerts at several iunior high schools, as well as playing in the Pops Concert.
