Missing: Greg Arnold tProgram chairmanj. The Latin Club headed by Mrs. Allen is an organization to further knowledge ot the Roman language and to promote fellowship between members. Among the winter activities were a trip to Golden Gate Park and a Saturnalia. Initiation ot new members and installation ot officers took place at the Saturnalia. The club then practiced Christmas carols. Summer activities included a Roman banquet, a trip to the beach, and the Junior Classical League Convention. Highlighting the conven- tion held in West Covina were a Roman banquet, talent show, Toga Hop, and a guest speaker. Meetings are held twice a month to plan tuture activities.

Develop Better Understanding Of Foreign Cultures ,,,..,,--4-0' Le Cercle Francais was organized to promote student interest in La Belle France and the French language. In order to bring French cheer to America, the French Club sings Christmas carols at nearby hospitals and at the faculty breakfast. Club members occasionally attend French plays, which increase their understanding of the language. And then, to climax the year's activities, the French Club goes to San Francisco to dine elegantly at a French restaurant.

The purpose of the Russian Club is to provide opportunities for Russian language students to learn more about the language in the context of Russian culture. This year the club got its constitution approved and had films and talks by Mr. Jenkins about Russia. President William Wil- son says, We are now hopeful that with official affiliation, we will have the opportunities of recognized clubs to better achieve our goals. This year the German Club headed by Larry Lance engaged in such activities as parties and films about Germany. Present members of the German Club hope that in the future, German language students will take a greater interest in the people and culture of Germany.
