P As we look back into the past years we see 10 little girls and 13 boys strut- ting proudly into the first grade. Ten of these are now in our present Senior Class. In the second grade Phillip joined us from Detroit and Joyce also moved from Lowes to become a member of our class. As we entered the third grade Ollie moved from Milburn to join us. 'I'he present Junior Class decided Barbara was too smart for them so she moved up with 115. Our fourth grade year was uneventful. When we entered the fifth grade Donald Cates re-joined our class after being away 2 years. Marie also joined our class this year from Lowes. The sixth grade was again an uneventful year, No new faces! In the seventh grade Daniel joined our class. About all we did this year was change teachers. I guess we were just too much for them. Carolyn was elected our queen attendant this year. In the eighth grade Bill Wallis came to share ln our fun. As our last days in elementary school came to a close we planned our graduation. There were 38 of us who received 8th grade diplomas. In 1952 we started our high school years as green freshmen. Wilbur, Gene, Donald Terry, Phillip, and Johnny were on the basketball team. Pearl was our queen attendant. As we entered into our sophomore year we gained another student, Judy. We chose Carolyn vice-president and Donald Cates treasurer. Daniel, Donald Cates, Wilbur, Gene, and Donald Terry were among our second team ball players while Phillip and Johnny had earned a place on the first team. Carolyn and Pearl were elected as two of our cheerleaders. In our Junior year we elected Phillip, Presldentg Pearl, Secretary, and Barbara, Treasurer. Garth moved from Bardwell to share in our good times. Gene, Charles, Phillip, and Johnny were again on our basketball team and Garth also joined the team. Carolyn was again one of our' cheerleaders. We worked very hard this year to raise money to take the Seniors on a school trip. We went to Memphis and everyone had a good time. We finally earned the title of Dignified Seniors' with nineteen in our class. Again Phillip, Johnny, Garth, Walter, Wilbur, and Gene are on our ball team and Pearl is one of our cheerleaders. We chose Garth, Presidentg Johnny, Vice President: Barbara, Secretaryg and Pearl, Treasurer. Our play was a great success and everyone played their parts well. As we look to the future we see our ball team winning the District Tourna- ment Trophy and the Junior-Senior trip as being the outstanding events of the year. As the year closes, we look forward to the future. We have done our best to make our school one of the best. The years we have spent in C. H. S. will be remembered always, and will form a treasured chapter in our Book of Mem- ories.
