Class Histor As we look back lnto the past year we see thrrty darlrng lr rle brats struttrng rnto the frrst grade Four of them are rn our present Senror class There IS Paul Scott and Donald Davrs wrth dusty trousers and tearstuned faces Behmd them are Benny Reasons and Helen Mullrcan why they are holdrng hands' That guy really started early Whrle rn the second grade Brlly Bob Hall entered our class after the Krrbyton School burned The thrrd year was uneyentful erome Puckett .1 brrght llght from Oklahoma appeared on our roll rn the fourth grade Agarn rn the frfth we were behmd the scenes no newcomers no nothrng In the srxth grade calrmrty struck The present umor class decrded they dxdnt need Denver Hammonds tnymorc so they presented hrm to us wc ve been aggravated wrrh htm every srnce Belreve II or not we had a Negro Mrnstrel 1n the seyenth grade We went to the fxnals 1n the school basketball tournuncnt but were defeated by the Semors whose star player was Davrd Boswell We were also grfted wrth the entrance of Geraldrne Galey that year In the erghth grade we had a Queen Attendant Geraldme Caley In the last weeks of our elementary career we began plannlng our graduatron program We had three one act plays Bachelors Baby One Man Photography and Elrza berhs Young Man whrch everyone enjoyed rn takrng part SIX of our boys Donald Paul Jerome Benny Denver and Brlly Bob were on the basketball team rn the nlnth grade Helen Mullrcan was Queen Attendant and Denver our treasurer In the tenth we were blessed wrth a blond from Mrssourr Frankre Presson who was our queen attendant Agarn erome Donald Paul Benny Denver and Brlly Bob were on the ball team erome and Donald were regulars on the first team Class offrcers were Denver pres1dent Jerome NICE presrdent Frankre secre tary and Helen treasurer In the eleyenth grade Howard Whrrtaker the monkey yorned us Frances moyed from Bardwell to be wrth us so she could grggle at everythrng we sard Every one obseryed Junror Day except erome and Denver who thought a wrndy day rn March should be spent 1ndoors rather than on Kentucky Lake We had a Negro M1HSIf6l wh1ch rncluded a one act Negro play Kmks IH Krzzres Weddmg wh1ch helped us frnance the un1orSen1or trrp to Memph1s Donald erome Benny and Paul were regulars on the frrst team wrth B111 and Denver as substrtutes Our Class offrcers were Denyer presrdent erome vlce presrdent Frankre secretary Helen treasurer We frnally earned the trtle Drgnlfred Semors Carolyn Morr1s and uhan Howle yorned us to share our troubles Howard 15 presrdent erome v1cepres1dent Carolyn secretary and Paul treasurer We organrzed a Whos Who contest whrch proy ed yery successful Our same srx boys were st1ll on the basketball team Carolyn IS one of the fue cheerleaders Our senror play was applauded as a great success and each semor was outstandmg rn hrs part Our eyes are set on the future We sec our ball team wxnnmg the Drstrrct Tournament Trophy and the Jun1orSen1or trrp as the most outstandnng event of the year As the year closes we look forward to the future but we will always remember the happrest days of our llyes our years spent at Dear Old C H S O v 1 I v, , v I Y K I It t v y y v lv A ' .
