We all managed to make passing grades with the help of our teachersg Mrs. Pauline Gillis, Historyg Mr. Clyde Heflin, Englishg Mr. James Warren, Scienceg and Mr. Jude Shiflet, Alge- bra. The freshmen boys were interested in football while the girls played softball. Mr. Clyde Heflin was our sponsor. Gayle Clemons entertained us with a Christmas Party. Fall of '41 came, and twenty-three enrolled as sophomores. Some had moved away but new students enrolled. We elected our class officers. As King and Queen of the Halloween Carnival, Delane Gaines and Wanda Rose Romack were selected. Mr. Bolton was selected as our sponsor. Billie Jo Petty entertained us with a Christmas Party. There were thirty-three enrolled as Juniors in the fall of '42. There were several who had trouble with their geometry but they have since made up for their loss. Our sponsor was Mr. Charlie Speed. The main events of the year amounted to a picnic at Ada Lee Hall's home. Later came a weiner roast at Billie Jo Petty's. Then we all remember the water- melon cutting on the school campus, also we were en- tertained with a Christmas Party by our sponsor, Mr. Speed. We also participated in the Halloween Carnival with Ada Lee Hall and R. T. Williamson Jr. as our King and Queen. Gerald Carpenter won the prize for being the best class reporter in High School. We Juniors won the High School softball tournament. September of '43 found us seniors thinned to about twenty-six who hailed from surrounding commun- ities. We have an excellent basket ball team. R. T. Williamson Jr-, and Willodyean Boardman were elected King and Queen of the Halloween Carnival. Some events of the year were a party given at Weldon Boswell's home and also a party given at Wanda Rose Romack's home. The main event of the year was a Christmas skating party at the Gymg sponsored by the seniors with the help of our English teacher, Mrs. Gaines. Mr. L. B. Click came at mid-term and now is our sponsor. p
