Var- ious phases of photographic work were discussed. A great deal of the club members' time was spent in the darkroom putting into practice the ideas that were learned in the discussion periods. One of the projects ot the club was to take pictures of and for the various organizations of the school, and then enlarge and develop the pictures for sale to the student body. We believe that the Photography Club of Cum- berland Valley High School is developing into one of the most active high school photography clubs that can be found anywhere. ROW l: Cleft to Righty G. Cumberland Valley is fortunate in having an enthusiastic, cooperative cheering squad who's unfailing support of the teams, whether in victory or in defeat, sets an outstanding example for the rest of the school. This group of girls has worked untiringly under the leadership of Nancy Eshelman, their captain, to add spirit to the football games, basketball games, and wrestling matches. They have participated in many pep sessions as well as being a regular part of the marching band both at football games and parades. This type of school spirit makes true champions. 79 ROW l, lleft to Rightt: C Yinger, J. Johnson, J. Mullen ROW 2: M. Basehore, J. Basehore, ROW 3: C, Mc Dermatt. it fl . V , 1 .1 . ' se w ft. Q: Q won SENIOR BAND Under the capable direction of their new band director, the Cumberland Valley Marching Band has created several new flrsts in their history. Their inspiring forma- tions made at the football games during halftime added much to each contest. This year our band entered several Halloween parades in which their high step made them an outstanding attraction. Entering for the first time into competition, our band made us very proud by coming home from the annual parade in Harrisburg with a Superior rating. Then last, but not the least the band entered several parades held in the Spring. Besides marching, the Concert A Band gave a concert on December 2O,l956. Our instrumental instructor is very proud of having entries in County and District Festivals. A hearty salute to these fine organizations. Keep up the wonderful work. 83 ROW 'l: Kleft to Right! V. These boys will be hard To replace. Six varsity lerfermen are back, however, To form This year's nucleus. GOLF Since entering the Central Pennsylvania Golf League Three years ago, CV has progressed quite well in the sport. Golt is a game that requires a lot of practice and experience in order to play and score well. The team this year was picked from the following boys: Bob Tressler, Scott Klinger, Ray Rutter, Don Sheibly, Ed Delattre, Ron Myers, and Larry Koser. Most of the boys have had several years experience and as a result should form the nucleus for a good team.
