MR. SEAVERS, Supervising Principal To Our Seniors . . . The name CUMBERLAND VALLEY is well established in the geography and history of our great country. Three years ago four school districts organized themselves to become the CUMBERLAND VALLEY JOINT SCHOOL SYS- TEM. This associated the name CUMBERLAND VALLEY with a public school system for the first time. One of the first goals of the new school system was the planning, building, and estab- lishment of the CUMBERLAND VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL. This was realized in iust two years. It is therefore now my opportunity to con- gratulate you, our first senior class. You have shared an experience unique in public educa- tion, namely, participation in the organization of a new secondary school program in a beau- tiful and modern new high school plant under the leadership and instruction of a new staff of teachers. I covet for each of you aspirations and happiness for the future, a realization that your high school days are now ended but that your education is only begun, and a genuine loyalty to the CUMBERLAND VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL. MR WHITNEY, Principal V W- Congratulations to the Class of 1955, the first class to graduate from the Cumberland Valley High School. Needless to say you have been a class of many firsts too numerous to list in so small a space. You were gathered together from nine different high schools. lt would not have been unusual if cliques had developed but this was not the case as was so clearly dem- onstrated when you elected a class president who was the lone representative from his par- ticular high school. You assumed your rightful position of lead- ership in a very dignified and gracious manner. You have set a good example for the classes that follow you. May you continue to set that example in the years to come so that the Cum- berland Valley High School will always be proud ot you. Best wishes to each and every one of you now and throughout life.
