We trust that you ore leaving with the deter- mination to continue this enriching educational process through- out life. You graduates also become a port of the ongoing tradition of Cumberland. As a product of this institution, you become the yardstick by which the public measures our true worth. The partnership we now form must meet ever-stifFer educational standards and must create a sound spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical environment for future graduating classes. John Mansfield has had much to say on the subject of uni- versities. They give to the young in their impressionable years the bond of lofty purpose shared, he said; of a great corporate life whose links will not be loosed until they die. May the links be strong indeed that unite our alumni with each other and with the university. Ernest L.
