CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY 1842-1957 For 115 years Cumberland University has served the nation well. From this relatively small, devoutly Christian institution in the heart of the Cumberland country there have been graduated more than ten thousand students. Many of these have gone on to become college presidents and teachers, ministers and missionaries of the Gospel, church officials, judges of state and federal courts, senators and con- gressmen, governors, and other judicial, legislative, and administra- tive officers at all levels of government. It can truly be said that no imiversity of comparable size had produced more leaders in public affairs. Measured by the character and achievement of its alumni, Cimi- berland University has a record of which all may be proud.

UNIVERSITY DRIVE University Drive is as symbolic as the Tower Clock to both Students and Alumni of Cumberland University. Lined on both sides with beautiful hackberry trees, it is an unforgettable sight in the springtime. Down its long expanse have passed some of the most outstand- ing men and women of the past century.
