Get a Hold — And Hold on! — And Hold On A new team was established this year by Coach Gary Ferris — the CHS wrestling team. Although new to Cumberland this year. Coach Ferris is actively involved in many sports. He helps with JV football, participates in projects of the athletic department such as the spring carnival. He still found time to organize a new sport — wrestling. He was on the wrestling team at Longwood, where he attended college and wished to continue with the sport, on the coaching live. For a new sport, quite a few members turned up. The team is open to all grade levels, from 8th to 12th. During training, members had to run, to exercise, to try new holds, and watch demonstrations. Al- though the team did not attend many meets — not many schools in this district have a wrestling team — the members have great plans for next year. The school now has a new weight room where team members can practice and next year there will be some returning experienced members. 1.
