Teachers Assist in Special Projects = ee Summer classes and institutes again attract- ed many teachers. Those who attended were Mr. Paul Thompson, Mrs. Patricia Hamlett, Mrs. Mary Joyce, Mrs. Juanita Simonini, Mrs. Ethel Southall, and Miss Annie Stimpson. Mrs. Robbie Whitlock received her B.S. degree in education, and Mrs. Dorothy Putney received her cer- tification in library science. Congratulations were extended to Mrs. Bar- bara Newman, who became President Elect of District D, Virginia Education Association. Second graders listen attentively as Mrs. Dorothy Putney, librarian, tells them a story. These stories acquaint students with literary characters and create an interest in reading. MRS. LOLITA C.
