FIRST ROW: Shirley Meador, Virginia Crockett, Eleanor Hedrick, Barbara Vaughan, Mary Ann George, Dot Carter, Patricia Brown, Charlotte Pleasants, Lucille Pfeiffer, Mrs. Putney, Advisor, SECOND ROW: Evelyn Baldwin, Lucille Dowdy, Kathryn Guinn, Barbara Addleman, Barbara Schmidt, Marian Baldwin, Jean Duncan, Elizabeth Frayser, Barbara Gamage, Dorothy Fariss, THIRD ROW: Peggy Meador, Frances Whitlock, Julia Vogel, Carolyn Stonneil, Agnes Johns, Mary Ann Robertson, Janice Blanton, Agnes Woodfin, | Mary Ann George Mrs. Putney e e e President Advisor The energetic Cumberland F, H, A. chapter at the beginning of the 1951-52 session set up the following objectives: promoting international good will, fostering the development of creative lea dership in home and community life, emphasizing the importance of worthy home membership, providing wholesome recreation for the family, and furthering interest in Home Economics, The chapter has completed a large number of projects this year, Among them were: selling vanilla to assist in chapter finances, sponsoring a baby beauty contest, and giving a mother and daughter tea, The baby beauty contest added $107, 03 to the club treasury, Prizes were awarded to the winners, First prize went to Marvin Goin, while the second and third prizes went to Brenda Adams and Jo Ann Blanton, respectively. This group of future homemakers took an active part in the Five-County fair and won many prizes, The club assisted other organizations and groups in their activities, It served refreshments at P, T, A. meetings and also assisted the P, T, A, in the serving of the Masonic dinner, It served both the F,F, A, and the Young Farmers’ banquets, The last social event of the year was the annual F,F, A, and F,H, A, picnic held at Bear Creek Lake, The F,F, A, girls all agree this has been one of the most successful years in the Home Economics Club,

FOURTH ROW: Max Latham, Teddy Keith, Max Trotter, Thornton Crowder, Charles Marion, Jim Owenby, Thomas McDonald, FIFTH ROW: Robert Wilson, Buster Ingle, Bobby Parkerson, Herman Jamerson, We, the members of the F,F, A, are justly proud of our chapter in that it has produced two State officers and has ranked eighth, seventh, and sixth in the chapter contest, consecutively, in the past few years, This chapter has adequately prepared many boys and established them in farming --helping them toward a goal of being successful farmers, Through chapter meetings, degree teams, and public speaking the farm boy is taught parlia- mentary procedure and is prepared to meet the public and be a leader among farmers.
