CLASS HISTORY As I think back over our school years,it seems like a dream that has been slowly sailing on and at last has come to its destiny. Eleven years ago three of our present class- mates, Ethel Vogel, Will Danby and Decker Amos, be gan their school career together. Each year as we climbed higher and higher, new members joined our class and others fell by the wayside. Our carefree grammar grade years were filled with joy and happi- ness, little realizing what we were striving and working for. After having worked seven hard years, we had our commencement at which time sixtcen of us graduated from onc lap of our life and were ready © to begin another, As we entered into high school, the new atmos- phere was strange and we were lost as what to do and where to go but it did not take us long to catch on to the daily routine and soon we found our- selves to be just as much at home as our upper class men. The Freshman Class, with the cooperation of the students and fine teachers, was soon roganized. In our first year history class, we went on a trip to Farmville. Soon the time came to take up our duties again ag a group of happy Sophomores. This year seemed to have a much more promising future than the one we had previously passed through. As we entered into our wonderful new brick building, it seemed like going out of a barn into a mansion. This year we had with us a new teacher, Miss Rhodes and @ classmate, Joe Stanley, who had becn in previous classes with us. We began working dcligently for some unknown reason. Our classmates became actors and actresses before our cyes in the Sophomore play The Hotel © Duchess™, With the funds roceived from this play, we bought a suit of furniture and gave it to the school. During this ycar we had many forms of enter- tainmments such as scavanger hunts, carnivals and partics. We also had a May Day at which timc Marion Brown was crowned gqucen and many of the Sophomore girls were in the court. Having worked hard, we had some moncy with which we took a trip to Williamsburg. So our Sophomore year closed with happiness, except for the loss of one of our
