70 Dr. J. T. Vallandingham Dr. J. T. Vallandingham honored by Alumni “Let no one enter here who does not know mathematics” was an admonition over a Greek school room door. “Let no one leave here who does not know mathematics” is the unseen admonition over Dr. Vallandingham’s classroom door. Here the professor labors with great patience, teaching others to rightly divide the polygon and to approach by the infinitesimal the infinite. Some at first marvel at his devotion to rightness, both in abstract problems and in human conduct; at his humbleness, dependability, and courteousness. They understand when they learn that he also studies to “rightly divide the Work of Truth.” and by minute daily deeds to approach the Infinite Mathematician and Engineer of the Universe. Having learned from Dr. Vallandingham, the student goes out prepared to make a logical attack of the problems of his profession and the problems of the “more abundant life.” Dr. James Croley speaker at Alumni Banquet
