rf-.ig K P HERES Major Charles Stuart Young, a Culver veteran of many years in a familiar pose that will be remembered by everyone who fre- quented the Library With a deep interest in books, he was perhaps the most widely read Culver staff member. Anyone searching for an obsolete reference only needed to ask the Major who could drift through stacks of books and come up with it. MRS. ELIZABETH BRYANT and her diligent staff kept track of thousands of books and periodicals, assisted us in many ways and was constantly promoting an interest in reading, She is pictured here with H. C, McCleary. At right is Captain Marshall, THE HISTCRY and Math buildings disgorge students in a typical scene enacted five times every day of the week.

Some were serious, some humorous, and some sarcastic, but they all had one quality in common - the desire to help us, the cadets. The classes were like the teachers in that each had a character of its own, but in all was the spirit of the search for knowledge. REMEMBER the iron grilled gate entrance to the reading room at Memorial Library? 27
