Hard Competition Marks Company Sports Both Batteries did very well this year in fall sports. In football Battery B with a hard-charging line Won the Regimental Championship in a tight thriller against D Company, holding a one-touchdown lead throughout the game. Company C and Troop B also made strong records in their bids for the championship. In soccer it was Company B. After losing their first game, B bounced back to win seven straight con- tests and the title. Company A, which land- ed third spot, lost a chance to tie for second by dropping the last game of the season to Battery A. ' Q lg mama The battle for the crew championship was hard fought and was not decided until the last race of the year, when the cham- pions, Battery A, edged out B Company. This defeat dropped the B Company squad into third place and left Battery A and Troop B tied for first place honors. At the moment ut is Battery A that is running against Bat- tery B, but the latter Stull won Regimentals.

In a three-team meet with Plymouth and Logansport, Culver Won, placing Wright and Frauenthal in second and third places respectively Paced bv har- riers Frauenthal, Olson, Wright, Schonblom, and Milliken, Culver proceeded to take the measure of Wlnamac, Rochester, and Knox, although we lost a dual meet to LaPorte and Chesterton. Following another loss to South Bend Riley, our runners scored a complete victory over Delphi, the last meet of the year. Frauenthal took first place, and Wright, Schonblom, and Milliken grabbed third, fourth, and fifth To Major Smith goes a large share of credit for Culver's rec- ord of six wins with three losses.

Frosh-Soph Are Undefeated The Frosh-Soph football squad finished their first season undefeated with five vic- tories. The first game they won with ease, swamping the Troop, 34-0. Next the squad beat Plymouth Junior High, 48-0. At Home- coming the team pushed across two touch- downs over Battery A to win, 12-O. The fol- lowing Week the Frosh-Soph came close to defeat as Morton Junior High snatched a twelve-point lead during the first half 3 but Culver bowled across three touchdowns to retain their untarnished record. The last game of the season the Frosh-Soph Won against Crown Point, 14-13. The team was coached by Mr. Chester Marshall.
