Se ae Juniors in a ring - about some rings Oo Somtimes we found ourselves in deep water - Meanwhile, back at McKee business as usual And sometimes deep in politics Sep tember ze = ae ; ele fashion world Magazine sales - and the victors with their spoils David's skill at make-up vy) O leaves us wondering about : our choice for Miss Rebel. Cullowhee students learn the joy of giving. A dramatic moment as the new flag is dedicated. May Ample evidence that anything can happen from September till May. SF Ore word There are nine months to a school year. Since the annual is based on what is done in one school year, there are nine sections to it, sym- bolizing the months, So Many Things Can Happen From Septernber Till the Month of May. Freshmen enter high school green and scared, They leave the ninth grade with much more confidence and a determination to make it hard for next year’s freshmen, The sophomores are not upperclassmen, but during this year they learn how to belikethem, Juniors sell magazines to make money for the all important Junior-Senior, They are measured for their class rings, and they eagerly look forward to the day of their arrival. The social highlight in the spring is the Junior-Senior, This year is the most important of all for all the seniors. The senior play, the senior trip, the banquet and prom, and - most important of all - graduation. This is a time of happiness upon the successful comipletion of twelve years of study. It is a time of sadness at leaving well-loved friends and familiar places, In nine months we can learn many things other than school subjects. We can learn the joy of achievement, the happiness of winning, the pa- tience of attempting, and the sadness of death. Each of these experiences will leave its mark on us forever. - - - So Many Things Can Happen From September Till the Month of May. ARDS E EDW Manager - JAN iness Bus MARY JO WATSON itor Ed The 1964 Kebel pro udly presented by the Senrtor Class We Cullowhee Stigh School Cullowhee, North Carolina We Dedicate Our Annual It has been said that patience is a virtue, and as we came to know him, we began to understand what this meant. He guided, directed, and helped us with our many problems and decisions, He took time to care about the things that meant the most to us, and he had-confidence in our judgement, He taught us - he counselled us - he coached us. And so, for being patient when we were impatient, for understanding when we felt misunderstood, and for being for us, when we were against ourselves, we, the Senior Class of Cullowhee High School, in grateful appreciation, dedicate the 1964 Rebel to you, Wr. Drown Griffin. ‘Table O Contents 1963 SEPTEMBER 3 a 3 if 4 9 fn ; AR! 16 io 2? pd! : 1943 OcrTre Ke a i a ne, Bo oe 23 30 31 1963 NOVEMBER 4 s ; ey £ is i2 cf Pry ; hed ee 26 27 1963 DECEMBER 2 3 4 5 9 10 1i 12 ces 31 etd 27 43 cd 166 3 19 47 eH4 z ; 1s 30 5 19 13 i gn 196% 7864 4 16 li 23 os 30 1963 7 ai 28 , eo atten FEBRUARY 31 APRIL i 2 7 : 14 RO yon? 238 29 MAY 5 Ne Guery thing There Ss a Season eee )) Mr. Hicks delivers the annual lec- ture to the student body on the first day of school.
