Was it you? Ah yes, no doubt, but do you know as I look into my Crystal ball that I see many wonders to behold! Jimmy Norton is the Editor of the Cullowhee Daily Gazette, Maybe all of Mrs. Wayte's encouragement was not wasted effort. Who is that cute little nurse coming out of the Cullowhee Hospital? It is none other than Dale Edwards. No wonder all these boys are sick. Is that mother Goose coming down the road? No --- it's Sue Moses and her seven boys. Martha Mae Smith is back in Cullowhee after seeing almost all of the world after following Hoyt to his different assign- ments. I picked up a New York Times, and to my amazement I see Bobby Bryson has made headlines. She is marrying a million- aire, What's this I see, It is Johnnie Crawford, going into Smith's Department Store to buy her eight children shoes, Lower the gangplank !!!! Here comes General Charles Crawford in a Marine Suit. My, look where Kenneth Adams is after 10 years promotion. As the owner of his own restaurant he has trade night and day. Who is this I see with all that money? It is Monroe Coggins, a great actor, who has played opposite Marilyn Monroe. Of course, she's the grandma, I see Jerry Stevens coaching a basketball team, made up of his own kids, As I look through a world-wide newspaper, I see Bruce Tolbert has won 5,000, 000 racing a ‘66 Ford. Take a letter, please, Miss Nicholson, The new president of the Tuckaseegee Bank thus addressing his secretary, Norma Nicholson. Lois Slagle is modeling hair-do’s in the Cullowhee Beauty Salon. That Darrell Millsaps has got it made. He is the principal of the McKee Training School, and guess who his secretary is? Annie Jo Taylor, and she's not only his secretary, but his future wife. Eucella Hamilton is playing the piano in Carnegie Hall. Just look at the people!!! No wonder she looks so pretty, and plays beautifully, Robie Jo Wilson is a waitress in the Tuckaseegee Drug Store, and by the way, she and her husband own it, After graduating from high school, Shirley Mills went to Tennessee to work, and ended up marrying her boss, As I look at the Sports Column in most newspapers, I see that Wayne Stevens is the manager of the New York Dodgers, Jack Smith and Barbara Jean Shelton are happily married and have a very small baby, Jack Jr. I see wings, and now I see the whole plane!! Who is in it??? It’s Lieutenant Larry Freeman. Euadean Hooper is teaching school in Canada. She really loves her work as a business teacher. Charles Ashe is now singing in Hollywood. Come to the Cullowhee drive-in any night this week to see his latest movie SING ALONG WITH CHARLIE,” Ina Hooper is keeping house, For Whom? Her husband of course. Barbara Jean Hooper is working as a secretary for her Uncle Arthur in his new supermarket, Wade Fox owns his own construction Company. Not only that but he got married to Lib Adams just after graduation and kept it a secret for five years, Jimmy Nicholson and Nancy Adams are happily married and living in Tuckaseegee. Ruthine Reed is now running the Highlands Florist Shop, ‘cause her husband has to work otherwise. Do you see what I see? It’s Clyde Phillips, State Highway Patrolman. I see quiet Charles Bishop giving orders to some poor little boys in Fort Jackson, who are going through their basic training. I’d never think his voice was so loud. As far as I can see, Everlena Coward, and Lois Jean Wood are quarreling over L, C, Mathis, Better hurry, Everlena, You stand a good chance, Ora Sue Kilby and Carlton Parker are married and living in Tacoma, Washington. I see at the end of a full clothes line, Barbara Ward, She has devoted every effort to make Pud happy. Who is this I see in Michigan? It is Genevieve Cline who is working in a doll factory. Here is Pheoba Franklin in San Francisco, California, giving up her career to become a homemaker, Morris Monteith is happily married, has three kids, and a ‘66 Cadillac, The great artist, Braxton Galloway, is home again. While he is vacationing he will sketch some beautiful mountain scenes, David Taylor is coaching a basketball team in Alabama, Strut your stuff, David. Wayne Adams is the vice president of the U. S. Anyone with brains always comes to some good end. I see way down in Texas, a very happy couple. They are none other than Densil Pressley and Kathleen Ammons, No wonder they're happy. They own three oil wells. Sue Moses In our many and varied activities we as a lively class have made some quite outstanding contributions, not so much to world affairs, as to the entertainment and mental collapse of our patents and teachers. At times, I fear, we have been rather irresponsible, and at others we have shown an outstanding amount of maturity and understanding. We began our quest for knowledge in the fall of ‘43, and by the time we entered high school in ‘52 our ideas about the importance of this quest had changed radically. Just when we were about to get the hang of things, they threw at us a few algebraic and chemical equations, French and Spanish idioms and irregular verbs, home economics house plans, and other such brainteasers as Macbeth and Julius Caesar, We, like so many classes, were thrilled and excited by our last year; but as this year draws to a close, we begin to think of the many friends we have made and the pleasant times we have shared. In the short time that we have left as Seniors, we hope to add many more wonderful memories to our already abundant store. Yes, we look back over these school days and ponder them in our hearts. We know without a doubt that our Graduation Day is not an ending, but merely a beginning perhaps for something far better. Cdlan, ExGis Klagk, Our Poem MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS Along the halls of Cullowhee High Our many footsteps have come and gone; Now we wonder with a sigh Why these years have so quickly flown. Oh, why does time so quickly fly? Our memories are so sweet and dear, Of the twelve years that have passed us by So many memories shall linger near. Remember those days of rapturous delight When work and play were daily pleasure; Those days shall always remain a light Among our many pleasant treasures. In our future when things look blue The words of our teachers we will remember; Dear Cullowhee High we will think of you And wish we were with you in September Johnnie Crawford Darrell Millsaps Statésttes GENEVIEVE ADAMS Square Dance 1; Dramatics 2,3,4; Hobby Club 3; Glee Club 1, 3,4; Basketball Team 1; Cheerleader 2; Secretary.of Homeroom 3; Secretary of Hobby Club 3; Secretary of Student Council 3; Secretary of Senior Class 4; President of Homeroom 1; President of Stu- dent Council 4; Art Editor of Annual Staff 3; Editor of Annual 4; Marshal 3; Superlative 4.
