41.93 1012 At last we find ourselves on the brink of that illusive some thing so prettlly referred to as Graduation After years of work we are as the pilgrims, who, after climbing foothills for many days, at last reach the crest of what seemed to be the last barrier, only to find the mountains towering before them Tall, sinister, seem lngly impassable, but reflective of the glory to him who surmounts their towering ramparts Some may drop in the valley of oblivion at their feet, others find passes to the valleys of success beyond, and still others, by sheer force, reach their towering heights to remain in the memory of man for all times The first day was a big day in the lives of us all The very thought of being high school students seemed to make us feel very much aloof from the grade school pupils During the first week we were dulv out through our initiation and at the class of the first week the sophomores entertained us at an all school party We finally settled down to the steady grind, always looking hopefully forward to this day Mr Hunter was selected as our class adviser to guide us during our freshman year and Jack Bowers was elected class president The beginning of school in 1941 welcomed us back as full fledg ed s0ph0m0P9S Donald Thorson led us in our second year of high school undertaking lr Campin was chosen as class adviser In 1942 we resumed our studies with a slightly more carefree manner For were we not Juniors? The class elected Leo 0'Connor as advisers During tnis year nlntruding on Horace' the annual Junior Class play, was presented with great success under the directions of Miss Williams and Mrs Chesbro The Junior Senior banquet was among the other activities This was sponsored by the Juniors with the Seniors as guests The Junior Prom using the South Pacific for a theme, followed the banquet Finally after a rough and somewhat stormy voyage we reached our long looked for goal, seniors, at last The class was organized this year with Luella Nelson as president and mr Hayes guided our class activities During, this our final year, James Golden, Jack Bowers, and Donald Simpson answered Uncle Sam's call and joined the Air Corps Other boys who started with us as Freshmen but who are now in the service are Donald Marchwick, Navy, Loy Jaumotte, Navy, Vlr gil Petersen, Army, and Nathan Bull, Army The class has been well represented in all organizations as the Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, Band, Plays, Basketball, Football, etc throughout the four years At last our destination has been reached and now we, like the classes before us, must go out and face the world with all the cour age and zeal we possess Page 12 its president this year and Miss Williams and Mrs. Chesbro acted as
