CLASS HISTORY Four years ago twenty-eight frightened freshmen walked into the Culbertson High Assembly. Our sponsor was Mr, l-lanneman, As usual we freshmen were initiated by the seniors and then given a party We really did enjoy high school being able to take part in vanous activities and take only four subjects In our sophomore year Mr Rhoades was our sponsor We gained Mae Ostendorf and Jack Fulghum and lost Ronald Tucker Vivian Groothuis Rex Tillman and Edith Nickles This year ten were chosen by the Junior Class to serve at the banquet They were Merlin Brown Dennis Elliott Walter Bauer Richard Myers Carl Soncksen Kathie Srtzman Jolene Sinner Joyce Desen Karen Rippen and Betty Lankford Passing on into the Junior year with Mr Reese as our sponsor we kept busy getting ready for the Junior Senior banquet with Fiesta as our theme and presenting our play The Skelton Walks We also received our class rings this year We gained Alan Schmitt and Earl Toms and lost Mae Ostendorf Jack Fulghum and Betty Lankford In our senior year Mr Rhoades was our sponsor We lost Earl Toms Alan Schmitt Joyce Desen Joyce Shaffert and Deanie Hill Taking senior pictures making the annual planning sneak day and presenting our play Shy Guy were some of the activ ities exclusive to our group as a Senior Class We ended the school year with the Bac calaureate and Commencement Exercises SENIOR CLASS PLAY The seniors under the direction of Mr Arthur Peterson presented their class play March 20 1956 The play Shy Guy was a three act comedy Shy Guy Fred Hastings High school senior Richard Myers Cora Hastings Fred s mother -Karen Rrppen Gilbert Hastings Fred s father Ronald McKnight Larry Madison Fred s pal Jack Propp Julie Tucker A talkative girl fond of Larry Jolene Sinner Gloria Patterson A model LoAnn Bowen Melinda Whipple A little old lady of eighty Kathleen Sitzman Lois Corwin A young business woman -Lois Miller Mr Danbury An aggressive man of forty five Merlin Brown Bill Sterling, A pleasant determined young man Connie Strayer ' . .
