Dr. Wadina About twelve years ago the students here at the high school wanted a club that would help organize and transport students on ski trips. Their reasoning was the fact that some students don’t want to drive the distances to reach the slopes. It would also “espose students to the joys of downhill skiing.” which is what Mr. Schmidt says is the clubs purpose. Since Mr. Schmidt has come to the students rescue the club has been a big hit. Almost one third of the members rent skis so if you don’t own your own, its no problem. And if you’ve never skied before, don’t worry. Lessons are provided at all of the slopes. In time you’ll learn the do’s and don’ts of skiing. The best part about the club is they’re here to have fun. And if you don’t know how to do that, I’m sure they’ll show you how. Steve Williamson in perfect form. “CAP is an opportunity that allows students to receive hands on experience in an area they intend to pursue upon graduation,” says Mr. James Bromwell, senior guidance counselor. There are approximately seventeen students involved in this program this year. These students come to class here in the morning, then report to the business of their choice. Some of them include WKTI, Appearances Inc., United Airlines, and Viacom Cable. CAP SKI CLUB 27

“C” Stands For Cooperation Lettermens Could you imagine a basketball game with out soda and chips? Or even worse with out programs? The crowds would become hostile and think that Cudahy is cheap. But because of the C-club we need not worry. Not only does the Letter-men’s club help out at home football and basketball games but they are also responsible for the mum’s sale during Homecoming. With the profits from their services, the club has donated money to the student council’s Christmas food drive, and also to the Charity Challenge. Of course Lettermen’s club is not all work and no play. When it’s thirty-five members gather for early morning meetings, they find awaiting for them milk and donuts provided by Mr. Rowe. The club is also looking forward to their annual Brewer’s game come this spring. 26 LETTERMEN’S CLUB

“Spirit Bunnies” Most people think of Pom Poms as all fun and games and be-bopping at half time to the latest songs. But the truth is that these girls put in more than their share of hard work and long hours. Preparing for a half time performance means early mornings and long nights everyday. When students were asked what the best part of 87-88 assemblies was, there was a tie between the Pom’s routine and the senior guys chanting fits! So girls, your hard work, is very much appreciated and we at Cudahy High thank you! POM POMS
