ISX Qo - OiS I Spirit Week Nerd day was the best day of spirit week this year! Each year Student Council organizes a week of fun before homecoming weekend. Each day has its own special tag. This year Hawaiian day on Monday got the week kicked off but Tuesday’s nerd day (a new concept) got people involved. “A little tape for my glasses, slide rule for my pocket, pull my pants a little high, work on voice tone ... and I’m nerdy.” 1) On the beach on Hawaiian day. 2) During a volleyball break. 3) Smile you nerds. 4) What's so different? 5) A nerd lineup. 2 Starts Year in Style Gangs, greasers and some finger snapping were organized Wednesday for West Side Story theme day. Traditional dress up day on Thursday and color day on Friday topped off a week always a lot of fun at C.S.H.S. 1) Getting ready to rumble with St. Mary’s. 2) N.H.S.? 3) All dressed up and no place to go. 4) Doing the hokey pokey. 5) Toga toga toga!!! 5 3 After a Long There are many ways to look at getting back to C.S.H.S. after three months of vacation. (From the front doors, side doors, or back doors.) Seriously, for some it’s easy and for others it’s a drag. But like taxes and tests getting back is inevitable. 4 Hot Summer ’85 Homecoming Assembly If asked what was the most memorable assembly of ’85 (or any other year for that matter) the answer has to be, “the end of spirit week’s homecoming one!” A rowdy week finished off with an even more rowdy assembly on Friday rocked C.S.H.S. this year. From the opening flight of Trinkl’s ‘Super Grape,’ to a little worm dancing, through the announcement of Queen Diane Knoll and King Phil Nicolato, almost the whole school got into the spirit. “I can imagine a few slow assemblies happen throughout 3 years, but it’s tough not getting into it during spirit week's.” 1) Seniors are awesome! 2) Mr. Bowe getting 'em fired up. 3) Doin the worm. 4) National Anthem starts another assembly. Most Other Assemblies I’ll Probably Forget! “Let’s see, oh yeah, Jamie Hoefgen won sexy legs contest, Mr. Woreck’s homeroom (bribed the judges and) won window decorating (Otte’s and Hitt’s were dynomite!). Ray Merlin loves jello, and were top nerds, the faculty can’t dance the hokey pokey.” Congrats to the court members and also the Student Council for super memories of Homecoming ’85. (What’s West Side Story all about anyway?) 1) Rippin apart our opponent. 2) Eat jello and die! 3) Barry doin’ the Boogie. 4) Trumpet Quartet. 7 Homecoming Diane Williams and Louis Carusillo Wendy Smith and Eric Olson Gail Quartemont and Fred Paul Bryan Zawikowski and Gina Fogel Queen Diane Knoll Court 1984 85 King Phil Nicolato The Game “I remember we got out to a lead. (I could see the score board) I couldn’t see the other side of the field. In fact, there were times I couldn’t see the field. Well, we lost the lead and the game and maybe with that the sight of Suburban Champs. After I saw the disappointment in the players faces... So many others would be glad to have our record, but after all our past success it’s tough to not see ourselves on top of the conference ... Second place is nice but our goals sought higher results.” 1) Diane and Gina court members. 2) Lori a little worried? 3) Bowe and Trickey have the next play. 4) In the fog. The Fog, The Haze, The Loss, The Fun? I could barely see the court as they rounded the field in open cars. I found it tough to look at the scoreboard at the end. But there’s no way to avoid seeing an enthusiasm in the eyes of my friends and it was great to see the burning flame of tradition, and there’s no way that I could see this stop the fun of Cudahy football and Homecoming ‘84.” 1) Yoshie Ikeguchi, Louis Carusillo, Wendy Smith, and Queen Diane Knoll watch the lighting of the C. 2) Zawie comes out of the fog. 3) “I think we're on offense? 4) Beat it! 5) See? 11 Classroom Atmosphere They’re all pretty much built the same: 3 walls, 1 door, closet, blackboard, bulletin board or two. Some have a window, some are bigger, some different colors — but they’re pretty much built the same. BUT ... There’s no way any of these classrooms are the same. (Atmosphere: any per- suading influence). It’s the teacher.” “Plants.” “Work going on.” A mess” “Bulletin boards.” “Temperature.” What makes classroom atmosphere? A different answer for each student, I suppose! 12 Every Room Has Some “I’ll walk into some rooms and get fired up ... others I’ll get a headache.” The Domes take a back seat to Wetzel. LaFleur’s has no windows. (He swears he’s a breath of fresh air!). Ms. Otte let’s ’em on the desks, window ledge, bookcase (yeah ... freedom to move!) Quiet in some, Crazy in others — Elbow room, some clostrophobic. But I guess (I know) it’s best that way!” 13 We Had a Great Day for It would have been a pur-fect way to finish a career in coaching ... “We didn’t take Purgold first this year, but did we have a year! We had fun victories, a suburban championship, great times, we even got an assembly ... just for us! We got confidence, experience, a building program. We got attention, lots of attention!” 1) Psych-up 2) Crashin the hoop. 3) Cal’s last Purgold. 4) The girls are off. Purgold We worked hard. We put in time. We wanted it all. We had a perfect day for Purgold, a crowd, the band, our fans. We enjoyed our days, our races, our team, our experiences. We (us, togetherness, team, pride, family) is Wetzel’s way. It could have been a meet for coach, a year for coach, a spotlight for coach, a swan song... it wasn’t. It would have been a perfect way to finish a career in coaching ... AND IT WAS! 1) Girlsgettin' ready. 2) Go for it, Drew! 3) Dreamin' about trophies. 4) Waiting for awards! 15 Free Time: Some get free time, some don’t. But it’s interesting to see how the time people do have free is spent at C.S.H.S Study ... can be a pain, can be a saving grace, but it’s the most popular way that most here spend their free time. Lab aides, office help, guidance, library: many put in volunteer work hours to make this place tick. Lessons, lab work, extra help, group work, library research: lots of ways to make grades move up! 1) Karen Nelson workin' in lab. 2) Marla McKnight a little study time. 3) Wendy Wartnergettin' work done. 4) No Free Lunch! 16 How’s it Spent? ! Shop time finish the project: some spend a great deal of time free in one room working on what they want. Oh yeah, there’s some waste, but that’s really the minority. Most who have time use time! For some it takes three years to know how to use it, for others it’s known right away. 1) Patti Wycklendt. Jenny Treloar, Michelle Bermann, Denise Kromraj practicing for Christmas concert. 2) Sulli (Mike Sullivan) getting some help. 3) Steve Becker and Rose Hardy and lab time. 4) Cindy Marsolek helpin in the library with Bob Benson. 17 The First Few Weeks: The highlight of October was the 1984 Purgold meet on October 6. Whitefish Bay beat our Cudahy Harriers by a small margin of 43-56 but we congratulate our Harriers for a fine effort. Parent Conferences were held on October 22 and 23 this year and turned out to be well organized and a great success. Thanks for all the cooperation! (4) Kelly Schneider: a break in typing class. (5) Mr. Fowler's got ’em on the edge of their seats. 18 We’re Off to a Flying Start Probably the most exciting week of October was Spirit Week. CHS experienced the best turn out in par- ticipation ever. Way to to go! It just goes to show you that CHS really has Packer Pride. The Homecoming dance was held on October 13. We hope that all the couples had a super time! On October 11, the class of 1987 had their assembly for the annual candle sale. The sophomores sold the candles from October 11 through November 2. October 2 was Colombus Day. October 7-13 was fire prevention week. October 9 was Leif Erikson Day. (1) Chris Czerwinski, an Unknown, and Kurt Igowski taking bits and pieces. (2) Amy Spahr saw the camera lurking in the hallway. (3) john Heinzelman being supervised by Jon Pritzl. (4) “Howard, sit on your camera!” Janet Grimm. Arrow again this year was an adventure. Most of our staff was different so it took time for us to all start working together. I guess you could call us a family. Our theme this year was Its how you play the game. We all had a lot of fun working with this, hut we also had to do a lot of work to develop it. In Arrow you learn many things, such as formating, taking, and cropping pic- tures. and learning how to put those pictures on a jxige in such a way that they tell a story. Arrow can be a lot of fun. hut it also is a lot of work. When deadlines are around the corner, there can be a lot of pressure on you to get things done. Y ou have to make sure you have all the pictures you need, all the copy done, and the people identified so you can write captions. When all the needed material is done, we have some time for enjoyment. Every year we go to WhiteWater for a yearbook conference. On that day we do such things as go bowling, and go out for a pizza. This year we assigned certain people to be section editors. These editors are: David Zabludowski Gloria Tarantino Wendy Dobrzynski Kerri Westhauser Carla Pritzlaff Charles Hitt Feature Editor Senior Editor Art Editor” Sports Editor” Super Typist Editor and Chief” Peagy Priebe Judy Buchholz Shari Zahn and Sally Czarnecki Howard Rigden Randy Simpson and Jay Linski Erin Owen Faculty Editor Advertising Editor “Senior Picture Editors Photo Editor Photographers Staff Our hopes for the 1985 yearbook are to keep the cost of the Iwjok down as much as possible. To do this we have such fund raisers as: Stationery, pizza sales, collecting ads. and a dance, (a total of 4000 dollars! So much of the school’s and system’s papers, programs, passes, etc. are done in this one room. The work is endless and the students really learn about the skills and dedication to deadlines necessary in this career. (1) Daryl Johnson pressing his laundry? The turnout was an overwhelming 100+, but only 90+ could actually give blood. Thanks to all who took part. On the entertainment side during the month of November, the musical “Cinderella” was performed. The cast put on a wonderful show under the direction of Mrs. Linda Seaman. We congratulate all of you. She lived with her cruel stepmother and ugly stepsisters, Portia and Phoebe. She worked from morning to night doing everything the women commanded her to do. But she was not unhappy because she thought it was her duty to obey. One day, the women began talking about a ball which the prince was giving to find a bride. And of course, the stepsisters thought their chances to become the new princess were very good. Cinderella was not permitted to go to the ball. After she helped her sisters dress for the ball, a fairy godmother visited Cinderella and dressed her in beautiful clothes so she too could meet the Prince. At first glance, the Prince and Cinderella fell in love and this is what happened. The prince and Cinderella were very much in love even though he didn’t know her name. Cinderella was so happy that she forgot about the warning her godmother had given her about being home by midnight. The prince was going to ask her name when the clock struck 12. Cinderella ran out of the ballroom, up the steps and out to her golden carriage. The prince tried to find her but couldn’t, all he found was one of her glass slippers. He was very sad. The next morning the stepsisters talked about the ball and the beautiful Princess who came very late. Cinderella was very excited about the ball and told her stepsister’s what she thought the ball was like, (when you’re driving — lovely night) The Prince demanded that every woman in the kingdom try the slipper on so that he might find his bride. About to give up hope, Cinderella appears in the garden. He tries the slipper on her and it fits. The princess has been found and then they all live happily ever after. 26 Musical 1984 CINDERELLA PATRICE WYCKLENDT PRINCE.....................JON MIKOLAJCZAK KING...........PHILIP NICOLATO QUEEN .............DENISE LAST STEPMOTHER VERA TRIFUNOVICH PORTIA ....LJILJANA STOJADINOVIC PHOEBE...................DONNA MOMCILOVIC GODMOTHER MICHELLE BERMANN HERALD.................JAMES TRELOAR CHEF.........JOHN HEINZELMAN STEWARD......MONTY SCHILCHER COACHMAN.............JEFFREY GAIDOSH FOOTMAN......JEFFREY JAMBRETZ MINISTER.....BRADLEY WHITNEY 27 Cold Outside but Not Inside in Our winter sports assembly was held on Dec. 7 to honor all the students who participated in: girls and boys basketball teams, boys swim team, and the wrestling team. There was a free throw contest between the sophomores, juniors, and the seniors, in which the class of 1986 took the victory. On the morning of Dec. 8, 1984 many seniors made their way to school to take the ACT test. We wish you luck on the results! On the 13th of Dec. With songs from Symphonic Band like “Fox River Festival,” “Las Estrellas en Tus Ojos” from Wind Ensemble and soloist Mr. Drake, and “Fairer Weather,” written by our own Kerry Dull, and performed by jazz band, it’s no wonder that the great musical spirit at Cudahy High is stronger than ever. 34 I 35 Cudahy Golfers Present: Barry’s Truckers and The Who Cares 1985 Cafeteria Tour Page 36: Top: Cudahy gone “heavy metal, look out Motley Crue Bottom Left: everybody must boogie down. Mrs. Potts (Barb Trefry) has just hired Hal Carter (Jeff Wegner), a handsome vagabond, to do some chores around the house. Her neighbor Flo Owens (Susan Freichels) im- mediately disapproves of Hal because she doesn’t want him around her daughters. Millie (Susan Probst) a 16 year old tomboy, and Madge (Donna Mom- cilovic) a beautiful 18 year old girl, meet Hal when he chases away Bomber the paper boy (Jon Mikolajczak) who was harassing Madge. When Rosemary meets Hal, she has an attitude that says she doesn’t need men. But to everyone else it is very obvious she wants to marry Howard Bevans (Christopher BunthoffJ. Flo has the lives of her daughters figured out. Millie is smart, so she will go to college and have a career. Madge is pretty, so she better get married before she loses her attractiveness. She expected to marry Alan Seymour (Jerry Pisula) who happens to be a college buddy of Hal’s. 40 Before the picnic, Hal and Howard were drinking and they didn’t realize that Millie was drunk from their whiskey. When Rosemary saw Millie, she at- tacked Hal and blamed him for her condition. Then Flo noticed that Madge was wearing the wrong dress. She told her to go change and come to the picnic later with Hal. When Madge saw how down Hal was, she began to console him. We later find out that Madge and Hal never arrived at the picnic and came home very late. That evening after the picnic Rosemary frantically begged Howard to marry her. He eventually agreed and promised to see her the next day. The next morning, Irma (Vera Trifunovich) and Christine (Renee Skolaski) came to see Rosemary off on her honeymoon. As everyone followed Rosemary and Howard out, Madge noticed Hal hiding by the shed. She finds out the police are after him and he begs her to leave with him. Flo and Alan come back and Hal and Alan fight. Hal ran off to the train and Madge went inside. A few minutes later she fearfully said her goodbye’s and left. 41 PICNIC CAST (in order of appearance) HELEN POTTS......... HAL CARTER ......... MILLIE OWENS........ BOMBER ............. The difference was absolutely astounding that only a small number of people could make such a beautiful ballroom out of a gym. We prepared for this day for almost two months, designing, cutting, painting and putting together all the decorations to be put up in the gym. All the work was for one memorable night — Junior Prom of 1984. One week before prom, the court is chosen, the King and Queen, and finally it’s Saturday. As you walked into the “FIELDHOUSE” you could only stare at all of the beautiful decorations that covered its walls. As more people joined the room, you only saw the elegance of dresses, hair and make-up beautified to perfection and the sharp, trim looks of the suits and tuxes. As the band played, people mingled and marveled on the appearance of each other. Soon, as 10:15 rolled around, everyone waited with butterflies in their stomachs to await the crowning of our King and Queen, and finally, the Grand March. Too soon, it was all over — the people gone, the long hard hours of decorations, torn down, and nothing left but an empty fieldhouse and all of the memories of that one special night. 47 Sports C.S.H.S. has always been successful all around in a variety of sports. This year our football team had a record of 6-3. The Swim team has started off their season with a “splash.” The Girls Varsity volleyball team has it’s best season ever. This year our C.C. teams both boys and girls once again have proved their all around ability. And of course this years’ Varsity Boys basketball team is on their way to another suburban championship. 1) Jason Olson serving 2) Mr. Thalman, Rob Hintz. and Dan Thein huddle before a run. 3) Joe Kubel on Parent’s Night. 4) Diane Williams and Carol Meyer get a quick start. 48 1) Mr. Kujawa's words of wisdom at a strenuous practice 2) Laura Hecker in one of her high monents during a volleyball match 3) Go get 'em Purple and Gold! 4) Now that's getting a splash out of life! 49 Another Banner Year for C.C. Cross Country did not change for the Harriers of C.S.H.S. in 1984; it was again too much of P.T.A. — Pain, Torture, and Agony. But in 1984 the P.T.A. paid major dividends as both the boys and girls won Surburban Championships — the girls establishing themselves as the first girls' titlists in our school’s short sport history. Jesse, Blank, Gerber and Dan Mmik copped first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:52.2, as did Bill Nelson, Lesch, Gaidosh and Martorano in the 400 freestyle relay. Their time of 3:29.91 ranks among the state’s top 10. “It was an outstanding effort by every- one; commented Cudahy Coach Robert Sedlacek, “just perfect.” Sedlacek highlighted the performance of Lesch, who produced three personal bests in the meet. “His part in this story was vital,” said Sedlacek. The Packers are slated to travel to Riverside this weekend for the Suburban Conference Meet. Preliminaries are set to begin at 6 p.m. Friday, and the finals will get under way at 2 p.m. Saturday. 57 Girls’ Volleyball: A Continuing Success (1) Laura Hecker for a slam. We were undefeated in the home portion of our indoor season. Taking on, and defeating, strong teams such as Whitefish Bay, Tosa West, Milwaukee Tech, defending State champion Brookfield Central and Marquette was not an easy task but one the boys responded to. In the outdoor season we claimed 3 major championships. First came the pretigious Trojan Invitational held at Wauwatosa West. Next, for the third con- secutive year, we finished 1st in the Hale Invitational. However the crown jewel of the season was winning the Conference Relays hosted at Waukesha North. Overall the season was one of many high points brought about because a very talented group of athletes committed themselves to excellence and were deter- mined to reach their individual potential. Take a shower, pick out this evenings’ attire, and prepare yourself for some serious dancing. It’s 8:15, your ride arrives, you go to Taco Bell and Mac’s to see if anyone knows if there are any “social gatherings” — of course being the clean cut kids we are, we won’t attend any. Stop at the store, buy some gum, and head over to school ’cause there’s a dance tonight. By the time you get to the door, it’s about 8:55. There are 15-30 kids already waiting to get in ’cause it’s cold out.' But not until 9:00 do tney let us in. While waiting outside, the tension mounts. You can hear the music from the DJ’s prepara- tion. People on the front steps starting to dance, and getting themselves ready to “get aown.” It’s 9:00. the dance opens and it's a mad rush to the doors. People just throw their coats on the coat rack and get out their cash. Also they must have their of- ficial Cudahy Senior High School ID. (WOW do they look ... uh ... “Different.”) Now you’re in!!! As if waiting for an enternity. 6-10 girls hit the dance floor right away, dragging with them a guy or two who don't really feel like dancing. But never the less get into it. 3 fast, 1 slow. 4 fast. 1 slow, and the pattern just keeps up. And after a while you hear 2 slow ones in a row. You look at the clock and it’s already 11. The lights come on, the people go out. Macs. Taco Bell, ana Pizza Hut all have their rush hours. These places provide some more fun for about another hour. It’s 12:30 everyone seems to evaporate from Packard Avenue. It’s over, at least till the next one. 69 Girls’ Basketball Varsity (Pic 1) FRONT: Yoshie Ikeguchi, Lynn Holguin, Gena Gedig, Kathy Kujawa, Vicki Swartzell. In Japan. I go to the State Senior High School, which is famous for high levels of study. We have fifteen required subjects and we don’t have study hall. We have to go to school from Monday to Saturday and of course, we don't have a school dance. We have to wear a school uniform and we can’t wear make up. I achieved my dream and I had many new experiences. I enjoyed them very much, especially a school dance. Studying was very hard for me because I had very little English. I had to translate everything from English to Japanese and it took a long time. Although I am not good at any sports, I like sports, so I joined the ten- nis team, the basketball team, and the ski club. I had a lot of fun and made many friends. I think that sports are the best way to make friends. Friends are my treasure. I am very glad that I could make many friends. They are kind and humorous. Although I sometimes had a hard time understanding them. I had a lot of fun with them. “Time Flies.” I feel it especially this year. This year was a great year. I can never forget the experience during my stay in Cudahy. Thank you everyone. Don't forget Yoshie. a small Japanese girl. Yoshie Ikeguchi When I think of mv year here at Cudahy. I know that I have very much to be thankful for. I have learned to respect and love people for what they are. I have especially learned to care for and respect both my parents, hostparents, new friends and especially my old friends and teachers here. Without some of my friends and teachers here, 1 don't know if I would have made it. Even though it sometimes has been a struggle with school. 1 real- ly like it. and I’m surprised over all the school activities you have here. It is a lot of fun to see how people are working with these activities. I want to give big thanks to my family back home, my family here, all friends both here and home in Sweden. You all mean much to me. I also want to thank my organization A.I.S.E. and Cudahy Senior High School, who make it possible for me to stay here. This had been a great year, and if I could turn time back, I would have done it all over again. Maria Nordstrom 76 FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, FRONT: Amy Groshek. Louis Carusillo. If your group or club ever needed some extra cash, you’d know about a fundraiser If you’ve ever had any contact with a person in a group or club that needed money, you’d know what a fundraiser is. “Hey, you down there, ya wanna buy some — pizza’s, pies, sunglasses, popcorn, candy, stuffed animals, stationery, ornaments, anything else under the sun? is really nothing new 84 We Could Sell Pizza! to our ears. They’re neat little things priced from .75 cents to $10.00 or more. Another neat thing about them are the bonus, incentive, money awards. “If you only sell 85 items in 3 days, you can get a whole $5 in cash or merchandise, what a great deal!” Seriously, they do make it all seem worthwhile, and you usually don’t have to sell more than 20 as “Your Fair Share.” Now the next time your group or club needs some cash for just about anything, have a fundraiser, and raise some funds. The reason behind the disappointing season could be because the team was without the coach. The team had the ability to have a good season, but lacked experience. The ski racing team hopes for bet- ter things in the future, and hopes for a coach to teach them the things that they don’t know about racing. Ski Club The Ski Club is put together and run by Mr. Schmidt. The club went on ski trips to Little Switzerland, Alpine Valley, and Cascade. The ski club went on a number of ski trips this year. The club is not for the advanced skier only; it is for beginners too. On the first trip of the year, everyone in the club must have one lesson. If you are not sure about skiing, you could ask Mr. Schmidt, and he may give you his own personal attention. (Pic. 1) FRONT ROW: Sue Harvey, Leslie Eagle. MIDDLE ROW: Dan Thein, Phil Nicolato. Student Council Whether you know it or not, the student council is very active around Cudahy Senior High School. It was surprising to find out that the Student Council sponsors Homecoming. They also set up the agenda for the entire year of school events. It may not seem like they do a lot, but when we had problems with drinking at dances in the beginning of the year, and they were thinking about cancelling some dances, the Student Council found a way to prevent that from happening. The group meets about every other week, usually during homeroom or first hour. They've had many fundraisers selling things such as jewelry, stickers, jackets, Student Council sweaters and flowers. Each class gave part of the money from these fundraisers to the fund for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. 88 Pago 88: Pic. 1) FRONT ROW: Holly Grunert. Cindy Leranth, Michele Nolle. These are the four cardinal points around which the society is built. Sixth semester juniors and seventh and eighth semester seniors are chosen each year by the teachers of Cudahy Senior High School. All you have to do is pick up two pompons, shake them around, and smile! The 1984-85 pompon souad iust makes dance steps look easy. This year the girls worked hard on precision and accuracy. They tried to make each routine look better than the last. and. judging from the applause received, they’ve done a good job. “It’s been a unique and different year, commented Ms. Merri Lee Unrath. ad- visor for the squad. This year, the Junior Varsity cheerleaders are following the varsity girls quite closely. Both squads have held many fund- raisers in hopes of purchasing new uniforms and emblems, as well as defending the right for cheerleading to become a sport with a letter included. Good luck, and thanks for spreading the spirit. TOP: Vicki Brummeyer, Tammy Posda. MIDDLE: Laura |ock, Joanne Curatola, Nadine Rychlak, Conni Tryba, Anna lanni. They are the squad that cleaned up the sloppy moves, and turned them into perfection. They are always ready to spread school spirit, and they attend all sports games and banquets. Although the cheerleaders may feel like underdogs you are appreciated more than you know. Page 93: Left to Right: Gale Quartemont. Becki Bednar, Wendy Smith, Patti Wycklendt. There are many problems that do arise while you attempt to use your little locker. Because of its size, you have to use force if you want to put your coat in, so it won’t be “mistaken.” This causes pressure on the combination lock — making it hard to open. But once you have it open, and you push everything back in, you find out someone closed the deadbolt, so you have to re-do it. Another problem is finding your materials. After 10 minutes searching, and 3 old bananas, you come to find you’ve left it all at home. Hopefully you’ve made an emergency kit of 1 extra of everything so you can make it through the day. and Throw the Key But if you’ve forgotten something in your locker Watch out! those sneaky hall monitors are wat- ching, as well as that nasty 3 minute buzzer. Yes there are some good sides to lockers. Birthdays, sports, and special decorations are to brighten your mornings. They are also nice social gathering spots to find out the prior night’s details, as well as a place to copy that last page of the assignment you never got around to. Not only do they come in handy for getting work done, but you also can make good friends out of your new “neighbors.” So the next time you have a problem with your lockers, just remember that they are do- ing you a favor. So don't hit it too hard! 101 Swing Choir Madrigal LEFT TO RIGHT: Patrice Wycklendt, John Heinzelman, Diane Knoll, Monty Schilcher, Scott Lundh, Tim Mirocha, Jon Mikola- jczak, Margherita Alioto, Phil Nicolato, Jenni Bugni, Brad Whitney, Pam Sramek, Lori Litka, Jim Treloar, Lynda Rothe, Jerry Schmitt. Mr. Hitt, the yearbook advisor, told Michelle Bermann and myself (David Zabludowski) to have this page done by the end of the hour. Well, this is the best we could do. I bet you can’t tell that we did such a perfect and spectacular job in only 10 minutes? Well we did! And we hope you like it! P.S. Al — When you asked me last year to use my clout I said sure — so here is one more picture “for the books.” P.P.S. — It was My idea to put Michelle’s pict. in — Did I say that right Michelle? But as we grew to know this school better we gained more friends and created new dreams. Forget about the times you’ve been defeated but don’t forget the VICTORIES you’ve won ... Forget about mistakes that you can’t change now, but don’t forget the lessons you’ve LEARNED ... Forget about misfortunes you’ve encountered, but don’t forget the times your LUCK has turned ... Forget about the days when you’ve been lonely, but don’t forget the friendly SMILES you’ve seen ... Forget about the PLANS that didn’t seem to work out right, but don’t forget to ALWAYS HAVE A DREAM. Thank you CHS for three years that we will never forget. We’ve learned so much here, not just in the classroom but in clubs, in sports, and most of all in the friends we’ve made. Our friends, some faculty and some students stood behind us and believed in us and made us believe that someday our dreams would come true. “We learned to play the game.” Page 126: Picture 1) Chris Bobrowicz tries to act studious. Barnard Ave. 744-4030 163 In Memory of Jeffery Lambert Away I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away. With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land. And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be since he lingers there. And you — O you, who the wildest yearn For the old-time step and the glad return — Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of there as the love of here; Think of him still the same, I say; He is not dead — he is just away! By James Whitcomb Kiley — With Love, The Lambert Family 164 Peter James Luedke In Remembrance of Him Friendship is a big part in growing up in our lives. There was a person who was everybody’s friend, Pete J. Luedke. There were many kids who grew up with Pete and knew him as one of a kind. There was nobody in the world like Pete; he was very special. Peter had that something special that no one else had. Those who knew him, knew that special something. He radiated friendship as often as he smiled. It was an unmistakable openness of wit and carefree attitude that made him so easy to like. Ever since Pete was a small kid he was good natured. If you said something he didn’t like, he would just smile and bear it, but just like everyone else, where there’s good in a person, there was just the same amount of bad. Somewhere they made a mistake with Pete because he had a lot more good in him than bad. If you had him as a friend, you never would need another, because if you needed help or just someone to talk to, he was there. The saying that all good things come to an end, must be right, because Pete had a lot of good in him. — Written by Terry Kowalski, Ann Mar- tin, Clinton Burns For and in Memory of Peter 165 In Memory of Daniel J. Zabludowski April 28th of 1984 was a dismal day for the family, friends and classmates of Daniel Zabludowski, a fellow Cudahy Senior High School student. Dan was a passenger on a motorcycle that never made it back to Cudahy that night because a car hit the cycle and began a tragic nightmare. Dan was a hard worker, but he also liked to have fun. Playing around with cars and listening to heavy metal music, as well as participating in various sports, were some of Dan’s hobbies. During Dan’s first year of high school, he was on both the football and wrestling teams as well as in the weight training club. He hoped to further his education in Industrial Arts and become a teacher in the southern states where it is warm. Dan is remembered by his friends as someone who would do anything to help someone else and because of his genuine attitude towards others, Dan had many friends. This was clearly obvious on the day of his funeral. Each and every person who was at that funeral can remember a special moment that he shared with Dan. And so we search for the answer to ex- plain why such a special person was stolen from our lives? We can only pray that God, in His divine wisdom, knows the reason why. 166 Congratulations to the “Class of 1985” from ...
