Cudahy competed against teams that have ranked among last year's top ten in the state in the regular season dual and triangular meet. Even with this intense competition, the team compiled a regular season record of 13 wins and only 3 losses. The team had many noteworthy accomplishments this year: 2nd PLACE - Trojan Relays (10 team relay meet) 2nd PLACE - runner-up team in the Suburban Conference Meet, 1st PLACE - State Sectional Champions, 12th PLACE - State Meet. The season saw 8 out of the 11 school records broken. The team averaged 3 new records per meet. Cudahy had 5 Suburban Champions this year, 3 State Sectional Champions this year and qualified a total of 9 girls to the state meet in Madison. It was a very good year. Two Juniors, Kevin Zibolski and Jeff Golden added leadership and ability to the squad. The experience through this season of the coaches and the players was one which taught many lessons on concentration and determination. Highlights of the season were as follows: 1) First win of the season against a tough Waukesha South Football team. 2) Scoring 22 points in the first quarter against South Milwaukee. 3) Two blocked punts. 4) 82 yard kick-off return. All seniors are editors and the advisor is Mr. Hitt. The club has put on a dance. The main purpose of the club is to gather all the memories from the year and make it into a book for a keepsake. The staff has labored for hours: meeting deadlines, cropping pictures, developing film and selling books. We hope that the book is a cross section of the entire school and that everyone is represented. We would like to thank Cindy Allen and also those who contribute their efforts to this book. I would like to take this space to express my appreciation to this year's staff and those who helped us put the 1977 book together. To you seniors best wishes: Barb Dettlaff, the finest page design editor ever on my staff, Dave Habanek, who made the photographers a well oiled machine; Ceci Hendrix, (I spelled it right) who always brightened 142 with a smile, Karen Meyer, one of the best ad getters ever, Pam Prince, what a great job organizing the ads; and Scott Schoemann, who says you're opinionated? Consequently, when I arrived here on August 12, 1976 my mind was a blank and I tried to accept everything as I saw and found it and not as I had imagined it. In the past year I have seen plenty and experienced many happy moments. I don’t believe that I could ever have imagined Cudahy and its people to be the way in which I have received warmth and friendship. The way in which so many students have allowed me a complete stranger, to join their social life and share a school year with them has been a very beautiful and memorable experience. Each person feels the excitement of it during the assembly, the game, and the dance. Each one of us has a special person we want to be Homecoming Queen and King, but we are happy and overjoyed with whoever does get the honor. The sophomores and the juniors are thrilled with the excitement, but the seniors have a special feeling, some happy, some sad, about the Homecoming weekend. He has taught Physics, Chemistry and Physical Science not only here but at Independence, Holmen, and Edgerton, all in Wisconsin. He has also rendered his services at the University of Wisconsin Extension Division. Through the years he has shared his knowledge with many of the students who are now or have attended CHS. For this, Mr. Slotwinski we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to you and wish you the best of luck in the future. 143 144 145 146 VICKIE RAE ALBRECHT Blondie .
