As Pam said, Homecoming is looked upon differ- ently by the separate classes: Sophomores as possibly a curious tradition, Juniors in anticipation of the honors of seniority and Seniors as a hint that soon (and maybe too soon) that they will be the home- comers with nothing but memories. Nevertheless, the most important benefit of Homecoming was accomplished a unity of spirit of all the classes. The Homecoming Court which reigned over the festivities were, from the left: Cindy Tomasik and Marty Plevak, Kathie Jamicek with John Paul, Betsy Bowe and Greg Gregory, Queen Debbie Baumgard and King Quin Loshaw, Sabine Kawder with Pat Masarik, Chris Riedel and Jay Gordon. The float contest winner was a 1st Place tie between the sophomores and juniors. And for car decorations: 1st Larry Hayalian, 2nd Jerry Kisley, and 3rd Mary Janiszewski. 26 The Homecoming theme, Nifty Fifties was carried throughout the festivities. In the floats, car decorations, halftime entertainment and at the dance. Guest star Chubby Checkers Knowles thrilled the crowd by singing Lil Darlin. The band and pom-pon girls played and danced to Rock Around the Clock. ’' The game - well it was a good close battle - we lost 26- 21 but the loss didn't dampen any of the enthusiasm. 27 Homecoming ’75 28 31 Ae 0Uof iiectcV) (i ■m fftuden diiecfoi; dunen Shaindel Alan Wyao -Dave Bugni Jerry Zink ark Momsom Hodel.Chava. and Gplde in Sabbath Prayer. Through the year I got acquainted with a completely different school system, I got to know many interesting and nice peo- ple, and I got to love a new family. 1 learned that things can be just different without being better or worse, and to me that is a very important discovery. All 1 can say is thanks so much for everything you did for me. I am sure one day I will come back to visit the friends I made. 43 PRESENTS • •3 ALENT 44 45 STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT COUNCIL is our school's form of government that combines efforts of the students and the Admin- istration for improvement in our school. C.A.P Community Action Project (CAP) is designed to help students explore different careers they may be interested in pursuring after they complete High School. Mr. Rick Dehring, the advisor for CAP says the employers as well as the students are very pleased with the success of CAP. The employers are happy that they play a part in shaping the students future. In October when Mr. Dehring came to CSH, there were only 33 students in CAP, now there are 43 and by Feb. 1, Mr. Dehring hopes to have 58 or 60 students. CAP is a volunteer program which means the students do not receive any pay for their work. They do receive 1 credit a semester and must do oral and written reports for Mr. Dehring. Their captain is Nancy Lesczynski. They cheered our B Team through victory and defeat; and with their added color and smiles helped build school spirit! Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm, and for the first time this past season, a new group of cheerleaders called the Wrestlerettes backed our wrestling team with plenty of enthusiasm. This new squad consisted of 6 girls. These girls enjoyed an active season cheering at both home and away meets and tournaments. One of the squad's main goals was to purchase new uniforms for themselves. This goal was accomplished by the girls holding several fund raising activities such as dances, bake sales, and program and banner sales. Though a great deal of work was necessary to the success of the squad, the Wrestler- ettes had fun keeping up team spirit and cheering each member on to victory. 76 WHAT’S THE LIFE OF A CSHS POM PON GIRL LIKE? Tri-Captains for the '75 season were - Cindy Tomasik, Dawn Kryszewski, and Sandy Moss. Altogether 9 out of 11 school records were broken. Fine team performances outside dual meet competition include a 2nd place team finish at the North Star Invitational, a 3rd place finish at the Trojan relays, and a 4th place finish at State Sectionals. The girls also earned a 3rd place finish in the Suburban Conference Meet - the highest finish that any Cudahy Girl’s athletic team has ever finished. Setting a new Suburban Conference record and earning a first place was the 200 yd. medley relay team. This consisted of Sue Selensky, Cindy Tomasik, Lori Tomasik, and Lynne Kuban. Nine girls, filling 2 relay teams and 2 individual events, qualified for the STATE MEET at Whitefish Bay. The medley relay team composed of Sue Selensky, Cindy Tomasik, Lori Tomasik, and Lynne Kuban finished 4th in the state. Captain Cindy Tomasik competed in the 100 yd. breast stroke and ended up 5th in the state. Lori Tomasik, a freshman, placed 15th in the 100 yd. butterfly. The 400 yd. freestyle relay team was 14th and it was made up by Sue Charapata, Cheryl Zelko, Lynne Kuban, and Karen Janicek. With combined efforts ended up eleventh out of firty- nine teams. After compiling an outstanding record the past six years and not finishing below third place in the powerful Suburban Conference, the 1975- 76 Packers finished in the middle of the standings and had their first losing season since 1968-69. Four of their losses were by one point, and three more were by seven points or less. A few more breaks and a little more luck would have turned the season around into an outstanding season. The Packers were led all year by the outstanding play of their two senior co-captains, Lyle Meyer and Bill Stew- art. As a whole, the entire team made a great contribution. J. V. Cudahy's Beginner level had an excellent season winning all their seasonal meets. The Intermediate level did just as well; their best score being 58.55 against a tough Whitefish Bay team. This year Cudahy was fortunate enough to have a group of talented girls at the optional level. Even though they lost a large majority of their meets, it proved to be a year of experience that will be carried over to the team next year. ROW 1: J. Connors, N. Palacras, M. Brandstetter, J.
