Graduation from high school is only a be- ginning. It affords you the opportunity to go further and gain more training for the life ahead. PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE College and industry offer the important fields for the furutre training. In both fields more hard work lies ahead and your ultimate success depends in large measure on the effort you put forth and the preparation you have made for your future. Pupils Try a ‘Dressdowri and Get Dressing Down The principal of Cudahy high school sent many of his seniors home Thursday morn- ing for wearing what he called outlandish costumes. The seniors were told to re- turn when they were dressed properly. Many of them came back immediately and others planned to return later in the day. They'd better, said the principal. Bernard Hogue. The seniors called the event Dressdown day. Girls wore gaily colored clothing and some did not bother to w their hair, boys also wore gay colored and bright neckties. Hogue and his assistant. Robert Seeger, called the sen- iors into the gym. “We don't recognize any- thing called Dressdown day, lie said later. I sent them home because school board regulations call for proper dress, in conventional cloth- ing.” Hogue said none of the pupils was indecently dressed. Not all of the 150 seniors wore costumes. Some of them rode around the school on bicycles. We can't have any fun around here any more,” one girl wailed. They cut out our pigtail day. too. We were just trying to have a litUe fun.
