ARROW 1961 YEARBOOK WILLIAM WEILAND editor-in-chief CONTENTS clubs and organizations sports activities classes and senior section faculty and staff P.10 P.34 P.48 P.70 May I urge each senior to heed the words of President John F. Kennedy, who in his inaugural address made this statement, “Ask not what your country will do for you--ask what you can do for your country.” Yours very sincerely, Walter Ploetz Superintendent of Schools 3 Graduates of 1961 will find that an increasing emphasis on adequate education still persists. Students entering college find increased competition. Automation in industry is requiring more training and skills which are measurably dependent on good educational background. The high school graduate has the proper basis on which to prepare for the future if he has properly applied himself. It is my hope that those graduating from Cudahy High School will have the proper founda- tion on which to build for a successful future. B. E. Hogue 5 Mr. Robert E. Seeger, vice principal, has duties which are many and varied. Among them are teacher and period schedules; general supervision of program making, and assemblies; transportation of Cudahy Schools as well as discipline, building and grounds, attendance and tardiness. 7 VALENTINE QUEEN, Grace Gerace POST PROM QUEEN, Carol Trinkl HOMECOMING QUEEN, Patricia Lein PROM QUEEN 1960, Vivian Stevens ACTIVITIES ORGANIZATIONS Homecoming I960 Queen...........................Patricia Lein King ...........................Win Parkinson COURT Hannelore Korsch............... An American Field Service committee was formed within the Student Council and work was begun to obtain a foreign exchange student. The money necessary to finance this program was raised through a door to door campaign, and in July we learned that Cudahy would play host to Matti Saloranta, a student from Finland. Soon after school opened in September, Matti became an integral part of the C.H.S. student body, and he is now a very well-liked boy. D. Nauman, President C. Aside from the informa- tion present in textbooks, our instructors have taught us many practical things that could never be obtained from any book. In these last four years we have experienced an enrichment of our minds not only through our classwork, but also through our extra-curricular activities. The friends we made, the subjects we learned, and the fun we had, have composed four of the best years in our life. It is truly for us to remember that our graduation is not an end, but a beginning.
