August 27 - the football squad sweated out the first practice in 90 degree temperatures September 5 - seasoned, battle-weary upperclassmen and timid freshmen began school 14 - Cudahy took Bay in the first game of the season, 7—3 21 - the Packers took Tosa, 19—7 26 - annual Jones assembly 28 - Hi-Y Dance celebrated a victory over Central, 14—6 October 1 - the Ten Gallon Trio recruited several students to help their act 5 - victory over arch-rivals, South Milwaukee, 13 to 7 11 - attractive floats and burning C” celebrated Homecoming 12 - tension caused by period exams Cudahy over W'eMiHi, 27—0 15 - more period tests 19 - Greendale beaten, 27 to 2 24 - Senior kids” invaded the halls on Pigtail Day 26-o woe! the Packers were handed their only defeat by Shorewood, 20—13 31 - Hale was trounced by an exuberant squad, 32 to 0; the Recreation Department held a dance November 1—2 Teachers’ Convention gave the fatigued student body a well-earned rest 2 - wedding bells sounded merrily for Mr. Wichman 3 - future basketball stars commenced practice 5 - water-wing-wielding mermen took over the pool for practice purposes 5-9 fast-talking salesmen drummed up business for the Arrow 12 — Armistice Day Assembly 16 — faculty and students were transported en masse to darkest Africa during an assembly on big-game hunting 20-27 six weeks’ exams taxed the meager brains of all 1 27 - in a non-conference game, Bay View took our basketball quint, 38—27 v g.22-25with visions of turkey dancing through their heads, teens and teachers • v ' took a Thanksgiving holiday 24 - Pius beat Cudahy in a non-conference match, 56—39 27 - a victorious team brought home a non-conference win against Milwaukee Lutheran, 62—53 f % 30 - Shorewood edged out the Packers, 58-52, in the first conference game of the basketball season December 1 - the stork visited Mr. Murphy wearing pink spats and a pink cummerbund 3 - South Division won the first swim meet, 44—37 5 - those small cards in yellow envelopes came out, gladdening the hearts of parents and students alike 5-6 Arsenic and Old Lace” ran for two successful nights 7 - South Milwaukee captured the traveling trophy with a 77-54 victory 10 - Jose Silva, better known as Mr. Banjo,” entertained at an assembly 13 - Little Suburban Meet at WeMiHi 14 - a 64—51 victory ove r Greendale gladdened the hearts of coach, team and fans. 27 - voices from all three choruses blended nicely at the Christmas Program school was excused for the Yuletide season - Waukesha slid past the basketball team, 62—53
