Senior Class History What were those first words we heard as we wandered through thousands of cor- ridors and millions of doors? Greenies! Freshies! Yes, how can we ever forget that f i rst day we passed through the portals of dear old C. H. S. to begin our four year career of learning? With Chester Skrobis at the helm as class president, we bravely set out upon our journey over the vast sea of knowledge. Our sophomore year began with a bang—skirts were hitting the sidewalks! Sopho- mores were making millions on bubbler passes. At last, the first rugged year, we chant that familiar song, Greenies! Freshies! The post prom, our social highlight of the year, found Rosemary Marsolek and Phil Downing in the royalty spotlight. Then juniors—upper classmen! The event we all remember best is our prom, Can- dy Lane . We all worked hard and had a grand time. King Red Fowler leading Queen Marion Strehlow down the aisle made a lovely picture. Our junior class play, A Little Honey, was a huge success, with Iris Dronso always misplacing her pet frog. Then at last came the day we had long awaited—September, 1950, and we were SENIORS! Out of the senior class came a number of celebrities. Among them Chet Skrobis, senior class president, Pat Omelina, Student Council president, Homecoming Queen Em Tonar, and Pigtail Day royalty, Milly Ronnebaum and Don Maloney. Once again Mr. Greco turned his play-directing charms at the lucky (A h e m!) senior class and produced a masterpiece, Lena Rivers. Queen Delores Totka chose Chester Skrobis as her king and they made a lovely couple at the Senior Hop. In answer to everyone's prayer, we won our first undisputed suburban champion- ship and placed seven men on the all-suburban team. All these remembrances mean many good times, but perhaps the best were those closing days—Senior banquet, Senior day, with click-click of high heels echoing through the corridors, Senior assembly, and at long last—those hard won diplomas. Surely not one of us can ever forget the wonderful days spent at Cudahy High.
