All four years its class queen was elected Homecoming Queeng it had the same class president all four yearsg and it was one of the most financially successful classes from Cuba High. Q During their freshman year, with Mrs. Vander Hamm as their advisor, the class members began their tenure in high school by standing together and electing their class queen, Carol Miller, Homecoming Queen. As sophomores with Mr. Don Ferchau as class advisor, they gained the reputation of being money hungry. A jitney supper and a successful carnival were two of their fund-raising projects. Their sophomore class queen, Pat Conley, was elected Home- coming Queen. The junior year was a very busy one. The class began by election of their junior class queen, Lucille Crick, Homecoming Queen. They produced their first class play Home Sweet Homicide. To raise money, the class members operated the football concession, sold candy, held food sales, and promoted a highly athletic extravaganza, The Cuba Teachers Versus the Texas Cowgirls. Most critics agreed that the 1958 junior-Senior Prom with its theme Candy1and was one of the finest in the history of the school. The junior year closed on a sad note as the class members had to bid fare- well to their class advisor, Mr. Ferchau, who left Cuba to accept another position. In their final year, the seniors elected their class queen, Carolyn Fidler, Home- coming Queen, thus establishing a perfect record in this department. They then con- centrated on planning and raising funds for the senior class trip and most important, graduating. Cuba High School will miss the class of 1959, but not nearly as much as the class of 1959 will miss its Alma Mater. Senior Class of '59 Class Prophecy After having finished a delicious capsule of condensed food, I leaned back in my chair to watch the moon- beams as they entered the room. My mind drifted back to the earth and the members of my graduating class. Gee! It seemed a long time since I had also been an earthling. But this life on the moon! I wouldn't change it for anything. I have tried Florida, California, most of the other states, several different islands and coun- tries. I still say that you can't beat life here on the moon! When I was in high school they said it couldn't be doneg but, here I sit with my T.V. tuned to station EAR- TH and watching my ex-classmates as they go about their lives . I hate to be considered a snooper but after these ten years I cannot resist checking on them. ROGER TAYLOR and PHIL McLOUTH have put their football talents together and are the coaches at Navy. I see the new president-elect is HONEST KEN WILLIAMSON. That old saying, honesty is the best policy, really did do a lot for Ken. His secretary is the former LUCILLE CRICK. PHILLIP KEEFAUVER, better known as Goof has his own jazz band. This organization is called Goof's jazzeroos The critics don't have too much to say, but that they are loud. One member of this famed group is CRAZY STICKS TURA LL, the drummer. It seems as though show business has claimed many of our classmates. A dance act known as the Three Little Girlies, consisting of LIBBY TRUAX, PATRICIA AULT, and ZOLENE CLA YBERG, is quite out ofthis world according to a moon newspaper columnist. I just got a news flash from Mars saying that the multimillionaire lover, TERRY PICKEL, better known as Whitey, has just announced his engagement to Brigitte Bardot! But, don't get too aroused, this is only the twelfth time! Maybe this is the real thing! Sponsored by: C.C. MILLER DRESS SHOP-- Canton VVESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC SUPPLY CO. --Peoria The former COLLEEN OGDEN has just been named Mrs. America of 1969. LARRY HARPER and DON FRANCE, I see joined the Navy after graduation and are now in charge of the submarine detention. I seem to remember the boys liked the word detention in high school and vowed they'd name their first sub thisg also on this heroic submarine is DWIGHT HART the ship's cook. CHRIS HELLER is pilot of one of the new .nan-piloted satellites. Now the space isn't safe with CHRIS as the driver. CA ROLE AULT BURTON and MA RY JOHNSON RYAN have taken the job of giving advice to all the single girls. BILL BROOKS, RICHARD HA LL, and RICHARD LASSWELL have purchased a big pill ranch on earth. They raise the food for the condensed food we eat. SHARON BAKER and GLORETA BEVA RD are the owners of a new satellite airline. They specialize in world travel. LINDA CAMERON and RON EHRESMAN have become the world's greatest mathmaticians, they arework- ing on a secret mission for the U.N. CAROLYN FIDLER is the Latin teacher following the retirement of our beloved Miss Tapper, at Cuba High. DOROTHY MATHENY and NANCY HOWARTER have just been awarded the Nobel Prize for their book Adult Psychology for growing parents . That's a switch! MELBERT LA FARY is the famous hot rod driver of the year. This is the sixth time he has won the title. His serviceman is DON HENDRYX. ROBERT TALLENT and BILLIE THOMPSON are the owners of the largest lumber and furniture business on earth. CARL CATTRON and JUDY RILEY are now happily married, and they have six little cattrons . Their children's nurse is BERNEATA MARTINDALE. Three of the wealthiest women on earth are RETAH SURRY, SALLY CLARK, and JANICE MILLER. They have become the greatest race horse owners in the world. Their horse Speedy is ridden by JACK WALSH. The former PAT CONLEY is now the famous circus clown Zippo, also, in this circus is the star attraction tight rope dancer, our own DOROTHY CATHEY. DIXIE SHIELDS is now the world champion rocket racer! One of the new professors at Cuba U. this year is GARY WILSON. He is teaching American History, and his secretary is his sister-in-law the former CAROL MILLER. Another teacher at this famed school is BERNARD MARVEL. He is the new agricultural professor. RONALD TAYLOR is still happily married. He is a chemist for the Ford company. His assistant is RONNIE THOMPSON. After graduation DAVID PLOTTS and TOM ROGERS decided to open a meat market at the South Pole. Dave says business is booming! CAROLYN STRODE, KAY SPANGLER, and KAREN SCALF are correspondents that come to the Moon on special peace missions . Happy peacemaking girls! CONNIE STONEKING and HELEN DILTS have combined their cooking abilities and are the judges for the Space World's Fair --cooking division. And there's NORMAN CHENOW ETH carrying groceries in his new Moon-Beam Grocery Store. Also his two check-out girls are our own SANDY FORD and MARILYN EDWARDS. A business man who make trips from earth to the moon, KENT SHAVER, has become a millionaire be- cause of his atomic self shaver. Since his atomic self shaver is so much in demand, GRACE LAFARY is his secretary taking care of all the many letters he gets daily. JOHN SLATER decided to move his farming business to Moonland. Now John is doing a thriving business with his newkind of cow, Moon-Cows. Well, I'd better turn off my Earth T.V. and go to bed. Maybe someday I can be fortunate enough to be able to look in on some of our old classmates again.
