Kaufman on Dec. 5, 1963. The plot centered around Mr. Whideside, a tyrannical celebrity, played by Bob Hunter, who had come to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley for dinner and had fallen on their steps. With a broken hip, he is thus confined to the Stan1ey's home and literally takes over running everything. The highlight of the play was when the villainess, played by Sally Older, was locked in a mummy case and carried off stage. The play was directed by Miss Johnson, assisted by Mrs. Schena. Miss Johnson- Doctor's orders, our director Mr. Whideside! What's the matter, Sal?? Junior Prom Soft lights and mellow music set the scene for the annual Junior Prom held May 17th. The theme was Moonlight and Roses , beautifully decorated with rose petals and a large yellow moon. The queen, Miss Sally Older, was crowned under a rose arbor by Jr. Class President Chris Wilkinson. I-Ier court con- sisted ofthe following: Sharon Swift, Glenys VanGilder, Terry Jefferies and Jane Vanick. Music was provided by Joe Prevesk and his orchestra. May Queen enior Prom Miss Leanna Smith, with her court Dorothy Seel- binder, Diane Shaffer, Kris Shields and Bobbie Seel- binder reigned over Christmas Magic presented by the Senior Class Dec. 27th. The throne set with the Christmas scene blended nicely with the decorations depicting the gay spirit of Christmas and New Years. To carry out the mood of holiday festivities there were soft lights holly and ornamented Christmas trees with sweet music provided by George Gatewood and his orchestra. Christmas Queen 5 The Chimaerian Chapter of the National Honor Society met recently and inducted six new members in addition to the standing six members. This is the largest number ever to be inducted into the N.H. S. in Cuba. The standing members conducted the program and held a tea afterwards for the parents, new members, and faculty. The N.H.S. is an honorary society based on the four principles of leadership, scholarship, service, and charac- ter. No honor conferred by the school excels that represented by this society. At the time of this writing, the Greyhounds were one game out of first place in the Allegany County Class C League. As usual the team was lacking size but showed plenty of hustle in attempting to handle much big- ger teams. Coach Harbeck reported the team to be an excellent group to work with and in the Christmas Tournament at Portville the Greyhounds and their fans brought home the Sportsmanship Award. In the tourna- ment the boys won one game and lost one game. Graduating in June will be just three seniors from this year's team. They are Captain Stan Piechota, Jim Luckey, and Chris Wilkinson. The future looks exceptionally bright with most of the varsity team returning and several good prospects moving up from a winning J. V. Team, under Coach Dave Brown. Junior Varsity Wrestling The 1963-64 Wrestling team is expected to hav very good season. In their practice scrimmages with other schools, the squad has looked very strong and in their first meet, the Greyhounds downed Hinsdale 38 to 6. This year's squad has several returning lettermen led by Terry Stadler, Jim Korka, and Roger Taylor. We wish Coach Cesari's team a very successful season. 6 ,SY Y h Gangs mx Hate . 1 G .
