COLBURN, SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL In this democratic nation everyone has the freedom to say and do as he pleases. If a person desires to work--he does. If a person prefers indolence, that also is his own decision. But if anyone wishes to acquire success in life, he must choose the more difficult path of toil and hard- ship. The diligent worker will always find his rewards, while he who sits and waits for success will discover that Fortune has passed him by. The decision is yours--make it wisely! THE BOARD OF EDUCATION Mr, C, Jordan, Mr. W, Serra, Mr. C, Crittenden, Mrs. R, Smith, Mrs.J'. Feuchter, Mr, R, Stafford, Mr. G. Enos. fl ' rv MR. BOYD, Elementary Principal Every citizen of the United States takes pride in the democratic government of his country. However, the existence of democracy is threatened today more than ever before. As each student leaves high school, he has one duty to fulfill above all others--to preserve the freedom of this country. Our rights and privileges, so often taken for granted, play the most important role in our lives, and it is the task of every citizen to strive to prevent their obliteration. MR. SCOTT MR. MARIE STOCKING--Distinctive be- cause of her long, long blackhair,Marie was an indispensable sine qua non on the basketball court. Bill Sheldon, Ron Kottwitz and Ron Greene were our representatives in Rochester at the Section V finals. Bill was first in the pole vault and second in the shot put. Ron Kottwitz, who was only a sophomore at the time, placed fourth in the shot put. Ron Greene took first in the hurdles. Victories over Avoca and Romulus led us to the final game with Belmont, which was played at Tullar Field in Wellsville. Jim Robinson, with a record of eight wins and no losses, hurled a no-hit, no-run game against Avoca. In the batting department there were seven with averages over . 300. This year's school fair was bigger and better than ever. In addition to vegetables, flowers, arts and crafts, and cattle, the 1960-1961 fair featured a goat with her kid, which proved to be the main source of attraction, especially to the elementary school children. Lynda Luckey dominated the home- making exhibits while Sharon Swift took top honors in the dairy cattle division.
