The Freshmen entered high school with 19 curious and excited students. We soon became accustomed to the ways of the upper floar and settled down to do our best. Ordean Fredrickson left us at the end of the first semester. ' As a class, we participated in boys and girls basketball, baseball, band, cheerleading, vocal music and pep club. Our classes for the first year of high school was General Science, tought by Mr. Sandt, Algebra, taught by Mr. Sandt, English taught by Miss. Berry, Home Economics taught by Miss. Berry, and Industrial Arts taught by Mr. Sykes. Our class officers are Colleen Wilson, president; Dennis Volding,vice- president; Gary Wilson, Treasurer; and Tommy Rasmuson, Secretary. C. L. This is the first year that Crystal Lake has had a kindergarten. It was held on Tuesday and Thursday of each week during the first sem- ester and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday during the second semester. We made our entry into our formal education in a very beautifully deca orated and well equiped school room. We enjoyed painting very much, also the story hour.
