On September 1, 19h1 Miss Nelson admitted seventeen first graders to the first grade room. They were Dixie'Benson, Norma'Brower, Irene Chodur, Lucy'Christenson, Shirley Fredrickson, Judith Foley, Jerry Green, Merlyn Helm, Marlene Hodson, EleanOr Kluver, Robert Lewerke, Delbert Rasmusson, Mary Ricke, ROnald Schenck, Doryce Sorenson, Gary Volding, and Dixie Christofferson. Before our first year waS'over we had lost Dixie Benson, NermasBrower, Irene Chodur, Robert Lewerke, and;Mary Ricke. Into the second grade we went with Miss Bearce. Our class gained Beverly Thomas, Allen Iverson, John Nordman, Duane Peck, Richard Battleson, Ronald Nielsen, and Doris Monson. We lost Delbert Rasmussen, Beverly Thomas, Richard Battleson, John Nordman, and Jerry Green. We went on to the third grade with Miss Coltvet. Ounfclass then rose to twenty. We gained Garnett Frogg, Paul Kitner, Harry Nolda, and James Smith. It then decreased.again, we lost Shirley Fredrickson, Marlyn Helm, Alan Iverson, Renald Nielsen, and Duane Peck. Going on to the fourth grade with Mrs. Ziesmer. We gained Donna Riggle. We lost Paul Kitner, Doris Monson, Harry Nolda, and James Smith. On to the fifth our teacher was Miss Kaasa. We neither had any gains nor losses. Mrs, Mitchell was our sixth grade teacher. We lost Lucy Christensen. We gained three others they were Marlene Hefti, Marietta Devin, and Phillip Orthel. For the seventh grade we moved up stairs with the high school; We had the'high School teachers for our instructors they were: Mr. Zea, Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Bobby. 'We gained Evelyn Burress that year. Our class sponsor was Miss Hunter. Our eighth grade teachers Were'the same as the' high schools. They were Mrs. Salveson, Mrs. Vlasman, Mr. Zea, Mr. Soule, and Mrs. Calhoun. iStarting the Freshman year on class members were: James Curtisu Marietta Devin, Marlene Hefti, Marlene Hodson, Eleanor Kluver, Phillip Orthel, Donna Riggle, Doryce Sorenson, Gary Volding, Garnett Frogg, James Peterson,.Judith Foley, John Nieman,Mar1ene Kingsbury;and Evelyn Burress. That same year we lost Evelyn Burress, James Peterson,and Phillip Orthel. Teachers in our Freshman year were the same with the exception of Mr. Laskowske taking the place of Miss Schrietmueller. Our Junior-class remained the same as our'Sophomore class. We had new instructors: they were Mr. Morman, Mr. Sykes, Mrs. Recktenwald, and Mr. Christenson. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Recktenwald. Our Senior year the class remained the same as in our Junior year. We have an even ten. They are:Marietta Devin, Marlene Hefti, Marlene Hodson, Garnett Frogg, Eleanor Kluver, Judith Foley, Doryce Sorenson, Marlene Kihgsbury; John Nieman, and Gary Volding. We, the Graduating Class of 1953 of Crystal Lake High School, being of lazy bodies, embecillic minds and nerve-racking tendencies to will and be- queath the following personal possessions and habits, and tendencies ac- quired during our years in school. Marietta Devin, will my poodle hair-cut to all the dogs in town. Judith Foley, will my well chewed finger-nails to Nancy Rose. Hap- py chewingllli Keep them well rounded. Garnett Frogg, will my typing ability to Janice Farrell. Hope your fingers can keep up with your brain. Marlene Hefti, will my up in the air qualities to Sharon Larson, who is always down to earth . Marlene Hodson, will my giggling good times and the slumber parties to Marvella Sorenson. Have fun with them, Bella! Eleanor Kluver, will my angel ways to Billy Iverson. Marlene Kingsbury, will my ability to keep a man to Vera Anderson. Doryce Sorenson, will all the tape I used on that certain ring to Bonnie Iverson. Use plenty of it so you won't lose your ring, Bon. Gary Volding, will my ability to keep all my GIRLSa deep dark sec- ret from everybody to Duane Peck. And all my gossiping good times in the back of the assembly to Lucy Christenson. John Nieman, will my ability to be a good chaffeur and get every- bodies girls in before curfew time to Lanny Meyers. Mr. Morman,we will our typing books and our 180 bad.days of typing. Mr. Sykes,we will all our quietness in the study hall. We also will our Sociology books with all the tattered pages from hard use. Mr. Sandt, we will our training rules and our quiet ways of sneak- ing home after hours at night. Also our thousands of running trips to Des Moines. Miss Berry, we will all our crunchy crackera and slurps of soup. the Junior class, we will all our good luck. It made us what we are today and it should satisify you. We also leave all our unfinished lollypops and unfinished candy bars. the Sophomore class, we leave our patience. It has been found use- ful as the only means by which you can endure the Juniors.
