With the dawn of September 1947, 52 industrious, intelligent-looking Freshmen boarded the plane for the first lap of their journey through the halls of higher knowledge At the controls were, Dave Sabo, Pilot, Richie Groop, Co-pilot, Sally Soderberg, financial stewardess, and Marlene Miller, recording engineer And with expert guidance from the tower by Mr Newell, Mr Chambers and Miss Martin we had a successful takeoff To keep us in contact with our superior officers, were Marlene Miller and Dave Sabo While in flight we held two dances, which proved to be successful, and staged a short skit when September 1948 rolled around, we found we had lost a few POSSSHSSPS those that remained numbered, 51 Ou tired pilot was relieved by T1m Stacy, while Richie Groop signed on once more as co-pilot During this second leg of our journey Ina Mae Johnson was having the task of handling the money, while Marlene Miller furthered her record Guiding us once again were Mr Newell and Mr Chambers A short skit was presented to entertain the passengers, entitled Cricket on the Hearth The clouds again proved a background for two successful dances As our plane took off in September of 1949, at the controls were Ben and Bob Pivatto handled the financial matters Representing us at council meetings were Sally Soderberg and Franklin Dalpra Directing us on the third lap of our journey were Mr Newell, M Chambers, and Miss Wiedrich To increase ou financial status, a turkey raffle was held, on November 18 On December 7, a comedy, The Humlngbird Hiccupg, was presented by the class To recall their happy days in high school, the class purchased rings May 5 rolled around, and with it the annual Junior Prom Dreamer'g -liggy was chosen as the theme song, and the gymnasium was decorated accordingly Ben Peterson and Betty Martinucci reigned over the gala affair as king and queen with the end of their goal set, 49 members returned to complete the journey Guiding our plane were Dave Sabo, pilot, Richie Groop, co-pilot, Marlene Miller, recording engineer, and Bob Pivatto resu ed his role of handling the money Marlene Miller and Richie Groop represented at the council meetings, while M Newell and Mr Chambers did an excellent job of directing The Senior play, an annual affair, was presented by the class, and was entitled, We Shook the Family Tgee To recall the best years of their lives, each senior had pictures taken by Mr Marshall And with the Senior trip just around the corner everyone is working to the best of his ability, so as to be among those who will tour Chicago 71' .0 . v Peterson, pilot, Richie Groop, co-pilot, Marlene Miller, recording engineer, Ho ' W . ----my
