WE PROUDLY DEDICATE THIS YEARBOOK TO OUR RETIRING SUPERINTENDENT MR. DAVID P. MAX Since 1949, the Crystal City school system has flourished under the leadership of Mr. David P. Max. This year we pay tribute to our retiring su- perintendent who gave Crystal City twenty years of his life to educate and guide the youth of the area. This dedication is just a small part of the gratitude we feel we owe Mr. Max. Mr. Max is third from the left in the front row, in this picture of the Rosendale High School bas- ketball team. 2

FROM THE YEARBOOK STAFF KAREN KOZAL, EDITOR Dear friends. Can you remember what the first day of school was like, or how angry you were when the gym class had to run extra laps? Do you remember what it was like to be in the senior play or make a touchdown? Can you ever forget the crowded halls, sloppy lockers, endless lines at the water fountains, the morning announcements, the lunch half hours, the showers, the bas- ketball games, or the dirty gym clothes? For a short time, all the memories are still vivid in everyone's mind, but as years go by, these memories will be lost or pushed aside by new experiences. The 1969 Crystalite will help you recall and relive some of the experiences you swore you would never forget. This yearbook will put you right back on the pitcher’s mound during a baseball game, or singing in the chorus, or walking onto the stage, or feeling that diploma being put into your hand. There has never been a year like 1969. The 1969 Crystalite is a personal record of all that happened and will be a priceless possession as we grow older. Karen Kozal, Editor The Yearbook Staff: Debbie Boyer, Becky DeRousse, Kitty Doza, Carolyn Malcolm, Cindy Genrich, and Karen Kozal. 4
